If you're looking for a longer dropper post that still lets you drop as much as possible , oneupcomponents do a great unit that you can adjust the extended length using plastic inserts - so for example you could order their 210 mm dropper and if it ended up being too high then shim it shorter DROPPER POST - V2 - OneUp Components US

If you like a more upright riding position, we experimented a lot with my wifes MTB and eventually settled on some VERY swept back high rise trecking bars- something like these Ritchey Kyote Comp Riser Handlebars | Chain Reaction Cycles , they are nice and stiff so you don't lose stability, but being both a riser bar AND swept back you have LOTS of adjustability by rotating them etc. It needed a fair bit of finessing with longer cables/ brake hoses to get everything right - why do manufacturers insist on using standard components on an XXXL framed bike???

Was watching some Redbull TV and see that Troy Brosnan won his first downhill world cup since 2007.
Always very consistent but a great ride in tough conditions for the win after qualifying first.

    Well done Troy.

Another Canyon team rider and Aussie Jack Moir has won the second round of the EWS race after coming Second in the First round , he now leads the World Enduro Series points table by 10 points and has a few former World champions behind him . Jack is a Local lad and son of one of the Central Coast Dirt riders Club successful ISDE riders , Bruce Moir . Bruce represented the CCDR at the ISDE in Bergamo Italy in 1986 . I seem to recall he also did very well in the Broken Hill 4 Enduro back in the late 70's or early 80's too with a podium finish .

Maybe I'm missing something, but what's it with the clown and the chainsaw on the downhills?

It's a pushbike thing. His brother has the old rim and the stick clanging them together.

Try turning the volume off and watching some of those spectators with bells :csm

Just a heads up - Mt Taylor ( near Bairnsdale) has a new down hill track. It opened last weekend and has just been uploaded to trailforks. They have it listed as 3 tracks, but it's a continuous 3.7 km dropping 365 m.

" loosen up" is the top 900 m / 129 m descent, definitely a black - tight and rocky, about the same degree of difficulty as the top or the dh track. The " b" lines make it a hard blue .

" time to drop" is a fast flowing blue section, which then links to the top of "the tip track" ( easy blue)

This morning I had a magical ride up the big emu then down the new track - it makes a much more challenging x country loop than the southern cross even though it's a similar distance (50% more elevation) . I reckon doing both as a figure of 8 would be a spectacular workout, but that can wait until I get a bit fitter.

Had a very nice day on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. Weather superb, so good to be back out on the bikes after illness, rain and other events. So it was a challenging 58km loop, both will sleep well tonight.

Loic Bruni has his own Youtube channel and this is his inside showing of the race at Les Gets last weekend . Interesting insight into the world of a DH World Champion from his perspective .
