Sorry George, we'll take the hit on this. We've been getting hammered out here in CA weather wise, then we send it East. When we get it this bad, it can't be good for the rest of the country. We had record snow fall in our local mountains the past couple of days.

As far as guns, I don't know crap about this stuff. My younger son is in to it. His best friend is an ex-Seal, they shoot when together. The one time I shot was at a local range with my son, he put a number of 9mm handguns in my hand. The Sig Sauer by far felt the best, smoothest!

Good to hear from ya George!

We have a snow halo on our surrounding mountains. I'm reluctant to go out. Matter of fact, in very rare form yesterday, I stayed in and slept most of the day. It was good for trying to kick the last of this lingering sickness. Definitely feeling better.

Think we are at 32° right now though. Not much incentive to be out.

they are, just nuts and bolts. They break, leak, rust, etc just like any other old piece of shit. They’re just expensive. When they made 3400 ish total of the 300sl’s in both variations from 54-62 they’re just rare. Not like 100 yr old ford model t, which you can pick up sub $10k, they made millions of em.

    Of course.
Lots of room but looking from a distance you would not think so.

    Hey, Sam!

Have you guys checked out Moto Doffo?

Wondering since it looks interesting and right around your neck of the woods when you meander from the ocean to the desert.

Marcello is a nice guy, his collection is bananas. If you’re lucky he’ll take you into the Ducati and Ferrari garage.

Gonna keep this in mind. I can look at bikes. Wife can drink wine. Keeps us both busy at the same place.

Hey Brian, like Imu said there is lot's of room for vehicles under that rock, see it all the time.

That Long Canyon Rd. is very very cool, it's kinda Star Wars(ish) while you make this long slow decent from the higher plateau's above Moab toward town. A few tight canyons with enormous walls on each side, very cool. It's not particularly difficult, rather easy I'd say, but beautiful!

My one and only pic, seems like we never stop. I'm just trying to keep up with Imu at about this point.

Yep Floyd, been there three times. My first experience with The Doffo was my first ride with the Long Beach Scooter Group, then I took the wife while touring a few wineries in the Temecula Valley, ended up taking the wife back to Doffo to stock up on their killer Chimichurri. https://shop.doffowines.com/chimichurri-p24.aspx

As Colby said the place is pretty mind blowing, it is not Barber, but bejeezus, this is one man's private collection that he has put together over many years in a setting that is just incredible!! I think their winery sits on 14 rolling beautiful acres.

The Temecula Valley is now over 40 wineries and a visual treat just to drive in and around them, I've only been to maybe half a dozen or so, I'm usually starting to get trashed by the 2nd one, yeah I know, I don't "taste" correctly. I've got no culture. The next visit will be done by staying a night or two at the Pechanga Casino and hiring a touring company to take us around and tour the "right" way.

Colby mentioned the Duc/Ferrari garage, a few other scooter riders & myself happen to be lucky enough to get the private tour of the area with Mrs. Doffo, it's a head scratcher how one fellow accumulated such a collection.

...and yes, I'm through Temecula almost every week getting to Borrego. The Chevron station/McDonalds(coffee only)is my half way stop to & from.

I've shared these before, but let's do it again...

You won't be disappointed Floyd! Please note the barrel/bike building is not always open, I don't know their policy on that, give them a call. On my second trip out when I took my wife the building was not open, but the door was unlocked, so yes I gave her a quick peek inside. I later told the Doffo daughter in the tasting room what I did, she gave me a pass.:1drink

Good to hear from ya Floyd!

Got an early start this morning so a good time to get the Helix ridden around Long Beach and go see what's new.

The development on the old McDonnell Douglas property is dizzying, the only thing left is old assembly building of the DC-10, which is now the Mercedes Prep Center. The main office space and DC-9 hangars are gone, it is now all new shopping centers and lots of new tilt-ups.

Had to look these guys up, a new satellite launching company funded by the Google boss.

To think this was the area that I used to ride my Schwinn to as a 14yo to watch the latest new Douglas aircraft being built, nothing ever stays the same.

Hey Imu, this is the new Hampton on Lakewood Blvd., Starcracks, In-n-Out and tons of other eating joints in the same parking lot. Dunkin too, I had a hot choc this morning.:thumb

A bit of tip-o-hat to the Douglas a/c company,

Since I was on the bike so early I thought I'd be able to capture the "Fly DC Jets" sign illuminated, it is awesome when lit up! Guess I missed it, cuz by the time I got there it was dark. WTF?

Old pic of Ripper and the sign, not lit.

Just another nice morning on Fusion.

Hey, that's my stomping ground. I'll have to get out and take a hew shots you missed. I have to clean the driveway first. We filled our pool (13 12-15 ton loads of dirt) and there is dirt everywhere.

All the best on that clean up PJ!

Please post anything you can. Not sure how long you've been in LB but the area from Eldo Park to LGB, Carson south has been a big part of my life for a long time. Moving to Cypress from Lynwood at 13yo(Ball & Denni). Riding bike to Eldo & LGB all the time, golfing at Eldo, Heartwell & Skylinks since a teenager. G/f at Stude & Wardlow for a few years.

Worked at Fedmart(now Target on Bellflower). This is where my wife and I met in Nov '80, I was a checker, she worked the flower shop. Good friends for 35 years still live behind the post office, Spring & Bellflower. My wife sister/husband lived behind Burger King for 25 years. My wife's two best friends both live right off Los Coyotes Diag.

Sorry to overload you on my ties to LB, but it's been a mainstay of my life for quite a while.

Still a wonderful area of LB, you live in a great spot!
