I can see Liverpool and City rotating between #1 and #2 in the table for the foreseeable future. Chelsea's MO in the recent past has been to hire and fire managers like it's going out of style. Even so, they've had success under various managers, so I question how much the strange "strategy" really matters in the end.
im cautiously optimistic on United. Top 4 maybe. Not to compete with the two big boys. should we move to the new thread? :)
still spun up today My coaches team plays today.... prob should calm down a little LOL i could watch Lavelle's goal ALL day. They give you the space, take it... then just look at the little stepover, shoulder jiggle, mini-flick of the foot, all within a half second...then turn and fire. turned that defender into pile of goo on the floor. as soon as she spun backwards, you knew it was over...BANG. world class goal at ANY level
Here's a fun fact: The Official FIFA world rankings (men) is called the "Coca-Cola Men's World Ranking". And it says so in bold writing with the logo atop the page and on your browser tab. https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/ranking-table/men/ If you click on the Women's Ranking link...you still get the "Coca-Cola Men's World Ranking" across the top of the page, the tab drops the Coca-Cola label, and the women's teams are listed below. https://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/ranking-table/women/
Something seriously wrong with the air in my house today. A lot of dust, or something. What a great video clip. Thanks for posting. Lavelle is something special...she's built like a XC runner, not a soccer player. But as soon as you think that, she's gone around you and scored.
thanks! thought it was just me that had something in their eye! straight up choked up about the fourth time I saw her on the ground screaming then running straight for the technical area to share it with the team! I can only Imagine that feeling, and when I do, i get all flustered :)
Note the date...the rankings are re-calculated about 3-4x per year. The most-recent was the end of March 2019. The next ranking is due soon, and will include the WC matches/results. Expect Sweden and Italy to climb, Australia to fall. England might pass Germany for #2, as they made the semi-final and Germany didn't. Sweden beat England for 3rd at the WC, but that won't be enough points to move up past England. Netherlands will go up a spot or two. USA will pull further ahead over #2. In the men's rankings, the US dropped a ton over the last year...they didn't play a competitive match (non-friendly) in 17 months. Since then, they made the final of the CONCACAF tournament (which, to be fair, they should always make it that far). They should jump back up a few spots.
Honestly, while I was watching it live, my first thought was go girl, take your space there's no one there to stop you, but I thought she would pass. When she got to the defenders and it was clear she was going to shoot and not lay it off I thought "there's no way the Ned defense lets this happen at this level", but after watching your video, Neds defense was so worried about getting split they almost just let her run right through, and the Keeper had to decide near or far post and she guessed wrong. She made an excellent choice under pressure. Way to go Rose!
My daughter played for the same club, same coach, as Christen Press. (the coach made sure to tell every single person he spoke to )
I once played against Ethan Finlay, who now plays for MN United, in a high school playoff game. OK, you're right... That's too far removed.
It was beautiful.. I could watch it all day. But all started with a brilliant tackle and recovery from Dunn. And only a few touches earlier
