I’m thinking you might be struggling, like me, with so much down time. So thinking about overlooked classic films and tv you might recommend and, even source.

    I’ll start.

movie - The Sand Pebbles. Robert Wise don’t make a bad film. Awesome metaphor for east west tension. Still relevant and Steve McQueens best performance. Candace Bergman too ... link to follow.

TV - Narcos on Netflix. Learn some Spanish and relive the failure on the war against drugs

    you... suggestions?

"Muscle Shoral", just became available in Youtube. Documentary about small Alabama recording studio that produced some of the best albums of the time.
"Smiley's People", "Thinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy". Both are available in Youtube. They are one of the best British Dramas.
You have to know a little bit of cold war history to fully enjoy them.

    "That's his rice bowl"...Sand Pebbles.

The Sand Pebbles was an awesome movie. Great choice :thumb Richard Attenborough, Harvey Mushman

Would love to watch a “Directors set” - David Lean (Lawrence of Arabia, Dr. Zhivago, prisoners building a bridge somewhere), Kubrick (Spartacus, Paths of Glory, 2001 - except Eyes Wide Shut. Tom Cruise Never seen it), Kurosawa - Seven Samurai etc.

Have Netflix but very limited. Streaming options for a noob ??

The west coast had "The Wrecking Crew", musicians who did the same thing as the crew at Muscle Shoals.

"Kubo and the 2 strings": animation movie in stop-animation, fantastic story and really beautiful movie, but also possibly the pinnacle of this specific art (stop-motion animation) that will probably never be surpassed as cost of computer graphics is plummeting and stop-motion instead is painstakingly time-consuming.

If you have Amazon Prime, check out Bosch on video. Great detective series and a good homage to the Connally books. Highly recommended. Great mood and believability.

Triplets of Belleville. Brilliant, dark, funny, French animation. Lots of riding, too
