Soft luggage in AK?

    Here you go. This is the first time I’ve tried to use this thing. It worked best to strap everything down, then add the Pacsafe. Shown for illustration purposes only, is the 85L Pacsafe surrounding an Ortlieb 49L Rack Pack, an old Helen2wheels duffle and a 2 gallon Rotopax. Pros: It surrounds all that and loops beneath my luggage plate. Seems pretty secure. It is very strong and well made. Cons: kind of a pain to get over everything. The net hooks on every strap so you have to work at it to take up the slack. I don’t like it contacting the Rotopax for obvious reasons. I’m going to evaluate further and decide if it’s going to AK with me. As Tewster's years of experience shows, a black bike cover will be a good deterrent on it's own.

    Yes a black nondescript cover is the best defense for me...never had anything touched in over 50 years of riding....but then again I wasn't crossing borders by myself and had to leave the bike un-attended while doing paperwork....
