    Hi guys,

I got a deal on an 05 that was too hard to pass up, but it didnt come with boxes or racks. I'd like to put my soft bags on it as I'm scared of hurting my legs on aluminum boxes, can anyone recommend a good set of racks?

Also I dont know much about these bikes, any advice is welcomed

    Thank you,
    LM

Happy Trails frames are cost effective, as well, but the pair listed above sure look trick.

If time is on your side, then waiting to find a used pair can be inexpensive.

Tusk branded racks can be found online for low prices, too.

I have an 06 R1200GS with Hepco Becker pannier racks that can be taken on and off quickly, though my Wolfman expedition panniers that are strapped to them are not exactly quick on and off. I ended up selling my vario panniers with concerns of 'doin' some damage in a fall, plus the soft panniers hold less gear and therefore less crap. The soft Wolfman bags are tough as nails, waterproof and far less likely to give me any issues in the event of a lay down.

The Wolfman panniers are getting on for about 7 yrs old now, but still work perfectly after being used on 2 bikes. Not sure what they're worth now, but they cost me about $350 (AUD) 7 yrs ago. The Hepco Becker racks were about $350 (AUD) as well and I've had them for 2 yrs on the Beemer.

    Cheers

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I'm going to go with the givi racks. I don't see why some bent and welded bars should cost more than $200
