SOLD FOR $2500 cash / no warranty

One 1990ish BMW R100GS (probably a GS/PD according to the
great minds here), orange and black. Ran when parked ~8years
ago (always garaged), sputters and kicks over if you jump start
it with a bit o' ether. Tires hold air if you don't mind 10 year old
rubber. This bike has the double-huge (5+ gallon) dual-sided
gas tank, drained when put into storage. I also fogged it with
spray oil so expect major blue smoke on the first serious relight.

(edit: those with more experience say it holds 9.3 gallons... might be!)

Upgrades: 2-temp heated grips, aftermarket oil cooler,
aftermarket Corbin seat on OEM seatpan, aftermarket
(Supertrapp) stainless exhaust, wigwag-safety brake light
license plate mount, Billet-6 front disk brake. All locks work
but the seat lock is a different key.

Includes the infamous flip-top key with keycode tag.

Previous owner was a local indie BMW wrench(*) who fitted
a rather earlier year transmission with a kick-starter (but retained
the Telelever suspension and final drive). Yes, this is a literbike
    _with a kicker_. You better be in good shape to use it though;
I did it a few times to show off and that was plenty for me.

Includes some old Metzler full-mud knobbies (not on rims). Skid
plate not attached, supplied separately (the skid plate makes
oii changes messy. DAMHIK.). The clock and tach are
wonky. I have no clue what the white stuff in the clock is.

Disclaimers: No warranty express or implied. NONE! NOT
    ONE BIT OF WARRANTY!

Definitely will need a new battery, Battery space is large
so a lithium would definitely fit. Tool tray present (damaged
and repaired), no OEM tools tho. Brakes feel good but that
means nothing; be warned the brake line to the front is at
least 12 years old. Rear brake is mechanical and clutch is
cable actuated. Very easy to work on.

I will throw in a custom CNCed exhaust finned-nut wrench
    if you want it.

    Clean Massachusetts title in hand.

Asking $2500 (updated!). Will haggle. Want-it-gone
discounts apply. Not posted on CL or Ebay.

Street legal but not inspected since 2012; I would not
recommend riding it without a careful go-over. Bring
cash (no checks) and a trailer with a ramp and good tie
downs, and some muscle to help load it.

Bike is in the Boston MA metrowest area (near intersection
    of I-495 and Rt. 2) . Photos taken March 2020 .

    - Bill (pls contact via email)

(*) If you're in Boston metrowest and into Beemers, you
probably know who I'm talking about.

Price drop to $ 4900, will haggle.

I have been informed by Blakebird that by the photos, the bike is an R100 GS/PD (Paris-Dakar), and the tank holds 9.3 gallons.

Thanks! (the title and reg only say R100 GS)

    Notice the monday-noon-every-two-weeks pattern? :-)

Come on, someone take her. My knee won't let me ride any more and she deserves better.

    update since people asked:

So, what have I done to it? Just normal maintenance, oil + filter changes, and fix-what's-broke. The pushrod lower o-rings started weeping, so I replaced those. The rear wheel bearings got looseey-goosey so I let the indie dealer I bought it from handle that job (special wrenches required). I didn't like the look of the corrosion on the oil cooler and the oil cooler hoses looked ancient so I replaced them with indie-dealer-recommended parts so those only have a year of road miles on them. Had bad coil wire tower insulation, cleaned it with a 9mm bore brush and it's been fine ever since.

It's got two RAM mount balls (that will go with the bike) but I'd prefer to keep the GPS holder itself as I still have and use that GPS once in a while and unless you have a 10-year-old Garmin, it's useless to you.

What does it need ? Battery for sure, oil and filter change on general principles. Maybe a front brake hose and brake fluid if you are paranoid or habitually ride 10/10. That's $150 in parts and two hours work. The tires still ought to have a season left in them, they aren't cracked or visibly dryrotted, but aagain, I ride 4/10 or so (timid!). Some people say the fork seals on any bike this old are candidates for upgrading; that's for you to decide.

I was out in the garage yesterday and decided to pull the kicker by hand (not foot) - no spark, no fuel, just a maintenance turnover by arm power, not leg.
She turned over, and wheezed, so engine and trans is definitely not seized up, and my arm isn't enough to push it thru compression.

Still available, $3000 (cash, no checks, will haggle, bring trailer)
