Glad you got it sorted, when dealing with govt entities $$$ is almost always the solution, I don't imagine you were able to get the other guys $700. refunded.
Didn't mean to offend you with the insurance question, I just didn't know if you could insure a bike you didn't own. WA recently mandated liability insurance on motorcycles and I learned that if you own obscure European motorcycles that my insurance company (Markel) can't determine a value for they won't sell you liability only insurance for it. Yes I asked what the value had to do with liability.

I think the final question becomes are you going to sell the bike back to seller B? I need some kind of closure to this story. :)

LOL. I am not. Buyer B is a solid dude, neighbor, and friend. He said while this was going on that he'd overextend himself buying the bike and was grateful that I refunded him since he needed the funds more than the bike. I also got to missing the GS, it's really a damn good bike.

Fair question. Yes, we can insure bikes not registered to us. I think in cases like these possession of the bike and title trumps any sort of DMV reg. At any rate, it went onto insurance seamlessly... they never even asked if I was registered owner.

$700 from BB was not refunded by the DMV as his transaction was seperate, so I actually paid $1400 and some change as I covered his fees as well. Appropriately spanked by the man!!!

I think the other thing that can help people get through this process easier is talk the basic information, hand them the paper work and keep quiet. Only answer questions.

Thinking about trading a guy for a 690R. He's near Modesto though, but I'd be passing by. Dunno what time. I know you're like 93 years old, do you have a smart phone and do you get alerts to it / email if I message you? I can contact you in the morning with details.

    Mr. Zach,

This is just one more example of what hard country you men live in up there. The lengths you’ll go to, to ride a variety of these modern day contraptions, on the edge of civilized society, as an unrestrained, free-spirited adult is positively inspiring! Well done Sir! Very Orwellian (wheelin) saga! Happy trails, the dust will always settle.
