Thanks and it seems to be working!
Another recollection was that I was scared to death of trying to get one of those rear tires off the bead to change a tube. Well, sure enough we had to. I knew from trying to mount one at home that my tire spoons were ineffective as that much rubber just marshmellowed around and wouldn't move. One of the guys mentioned a story he heard about using another bike's kickstand to break the bead loose. We had nothing to lose. Sure enough it works! Once the tire comes off the bead the tire tools work just like any other tire.
One last thing, my battery started the trip weak and caused problems at times. One of the more crafty guys figured out if we took the SAE extension cord from the Slime pump kit, cut one end, and reversed the pinning we could use that cable to supply power from one bike to another. Since I had a SAE connector installed for my trickle charger this made a handy method of just plugging one running bike into my bike to charge my battery. We exchanged the inline fuses for something bigger and had no issues. The kicker is that the modded cord still runs the air pump just fine! So I prettied up the cable and it now has a dual purpose. Times when this came in handy: cold morning start at Marshall Pass, when a key got left on accidentally, when the fans ran and the key was accidentally left on while helping a downed bike. Very handy.
I've had to use that method on all the rear tires I've ever mounted on my 800, even D606s. Works like a charm and I don't need one of them fancy Motion Pro sanbox scoopers.
Agreed the sidestand trick works well!
I must have been smokey the bear in a previous life, as I appear addicted to tracking flames. Anyhow, I've collated the fire watch sites to post #2. Let me know if I missed any.
Fire Watch Bottom of post #2
Also Whitewater-Baldy Complex must now be out as it is listed as "Burned Area Emergency Rehabilitation"(BAER) and no current closures!
Dave...I just got off the phone with Sandia BMW and your tires as well as ours have arrived.
Great...one more item off the list
In a weeks time, half of the fun and all of the anticipation will be over. It's gonna be a tough week.

Execution phase thread now open......
Hey guys...in the past years trips I seem to run across people and I have no way to share Advrider or my trip with them so this year I decided to make up business cards with all the information on it. So if you want the MS Word file so you can do your own I can provide it...if you send it back with your information on it I will print you a few for the trip.
Good idea Bruce... I did them for my charity rides. Very well received by gas station lurkers and no one remembers a web address unless it is www dot youporn.com
Been packing/unpacking/repacking, packing/unpacking/repacking all morning.
