If I rode to work every day that would be 35,000k's/year, so not that much commuting. If they are saying every 1000 for an oil change I wouldn't be leaving it for 10.
    Just saying.

I was looking at a KLX450R (hope I got that right...the road legal enduro one) a while back and then looked at the service intervals. Quite often people motard them or use them as a ride to work bike as well a weekend enduro bike.
Piston and rings every 20 hrs. :eek2
32K kms isn't too bad compared to 20 hrs.

I read somewhere Daryl Beattie will be adding them to his fleet and he'd have atleast one in the fleet this year for customers to ride.

As long as “Acerbis,IMS,Safari” make a decent 20+L fuel tank for them they will be a decent option for people easily stretch oil changes out to 2000km and 30000kms is a lot of riding really I’d suspect u could do 10k sell and swap your adventure gear over to another new bike every couple of years if rebuilds weren’t your think

True, I suppose all the gear will fit 'cause there is little chance of anything changing real soon.

Hahaha true story but point being he's gonna be running them upnthe cape, across the simpson etc and I'd suggest a bigger tank will be utilized

The big thing will be the bloody tank
If the aftermarket guys keep up there current tend it’ll only be @ 15L which in my opinion is way to small all aftermarket tanks need 2 sizes @ 15 and @ 22L

It’s more like @ 320km which is what I get out of my ktm500 adventure and it’s not enough ,having the 2 options is much better 20+L is a proper adventure range @ 450km without having to rely on carrying heaps of bladders

If they are going to do something like this, at least get the fucker right!
I like the concept but reckon it's a big fail!
It's fat, has no range and has hideously small service intervals!

But, it will still sell like hot cakes to all the Hondamites!

It's no XR thats for sure!

    I like it

    Good onya Honda.

    MX bike detuned and ADR.

Flick the pipe, buy the program for the EFI / Engine management to give more power
    if so desired.

    Take the weight off it.

And we got a MX bike with long travel suspension, just like the KDX's, IT's, PE's etc we all wanted.

I will say it again, Honda are going a cross between Rallys and ADV bikes.
This bike will come out with a Rallye fairing in the not so distant future.

Next will be a 650 size bike i am guessing.

Then we will see a AT with alloy frame the same weight as the 800 size bikes coming out,
    with 200cc more engine capacity.
You can never win the horespower race with a smaller engine.

    Check mate.

Good on you Kasuyaho, I’m with you. Don’t worry about the ktm boys, they’re swarming all over the CRF threads piling on the hate. Amusing to watch at first, now just boring...

Fair chance they will - look at the current 450x - unchanged for 10 years means mondo aftermarket support.

I really hope that this ends up a good thing. I'm sure there will be aftermarket support there.
Should really just need the tank, get rid of some weight and sort the oil changes. Look at the 500EXC's, getting very good reliability out of them with much less than book oil changes (but it is a KTM, sorry couldn't help myself).

Hopefully it isn't released with sub standard components like (and I will get howled down here) the first of the AT's. No need for that from a company like Honda, they know what's going on. All financial.

    I await the barrage.

I’d say it’s a very low chance of a tank bigger than @ 15L nearly every newer bike has only had this sized aftermarket tank built
