Sometimes you get lucky and this weekend I did. I needed to be in Truckee for a bachelor party on Saturday afternoon so I got out my map and figured out how to get there. After carfeul consideration of routes it was determined that Sonora Pass was the best way to get to Truckee :evil A fellow participant in the Cal 24 decided to join me so we could do a shakedown before the event next weekend. We met in Livermore and slabbed our way across the cental valley.

We gassed up in Jamestown and started up the Sierra Nevadas

More fun then I should be allowed to have

Mistakes on this type of road can be real trouble as a result of the drop offs and the distance to the nearest medical facility - ride safe. This cage missed on the high side :1drink

We have arrived at the top - nowhere to go but down. I started my slide with a salute even before I got back on the bike. Three weeks to get over the pass :eek1 - only took us about one hour and we were doing it for fun.

Yippeee down the other side - sorry no pics it was short and sweet. Had to make sure I didn't bump into any Marines training on the east side of the range.

To see the mountains I need my mirrors at this point

My ride partner headed up and over Monitor pass but I needed to get to Reno 911. So up the Carson Valley on 395 it was. Hey Ian does this does this place look familiar :evil

Hey fish I didn't know you had a thrift shop in Carson City :huh

Yeah butt it is the little things in the composition that make my photo art. Actually I didn't have much time to take the picture just as I was setting up two squad cars came roaring around the corner to bust some guy in the back parking lot. No need to sit there saluting the local business when the cops show up. :evil :ricky
