Org offered Malle moto support almost sounds like a contradiction in terms, but somebody has to carry a box

I felt Malle moto even when sharing a big rolling box with conger and vlcek

Most likely I'm racing in a UTV, but if that falls through, I'll be malles moto on my bike.

Thanks for the options Mark, Dan, etc.

    SatPhone EDIT:

Looks like they did not apply the proper Sonora Rally 2018 discount.

They re-worked the numbers and for 2 phones it's $122 each (30 min + $1.99 x additional min). Plus $20 for return shipping.

Does not solve the problem that a SAT Phone is a mandatory requirement for the racers!

When questions come up, it's far more helpful if you ask Darren or myself rather than taking jabs on a public forum. We have answers. The answer in this case is that Darren is still in negotiations with the sat phone provider for our 2018 event, so the final best price deal is not yet settled. Please be patient.

The Sonora Rally navigation school this weekend will take participants through a variety of desert terrain, and a variety of roadbook navigation challenges, giving them a leg up when the rally begins in March in this same region. Here's a sample of what they are in for out in the dunes!

It's a 22km loop of HP, out and back from Kino Cross. It's a good introduction to the dunes and RallyComp WPM functions without putting them too far out into the monster dunes. It's just tough enough that everyone should get stuck or fall down once or twice, but not so much that they get frustrated and exhausted. That's the plan anyway. Morning classroom, afternoon dunes.

Tracking shows participants (green arrows) all over the place, including some already finished for the day. Blue/White "M" are WPM points.
