Anyone know how South America is for travel right now? How is covid affecting that? Any restrictions? Lodging difficulty? Eating out? Quarantine? Lockdown? Chaos? Mayhem? Dogs and cats sleeping together? Thanks

Is it even possible right now? The US-Mexico border is closed and a quick search indicated Americans can't enter Chile...as an example.....

Your question would be better asked over in the Regional forums: https://advrider.com/f/forums/latin-america.33/

Not completely true, you can get into Mexico and of course you can always cross back into the USA coming from anywhere in the world. There are a few restrictions, but it is possible. I know of multiple teams in Baja right now pre-running for the Baja 1000.

RE Mexico. Not true. The land border is open between US/Mexico.

As an example, Ecuador is wide open. Court Rand's Ecuador Freedom Bike is cranking along! Fly into Quito with a within 72 hour PCR test receipt (PCR just means it's the common nasal swab and not the blood test) and you're in.

The only land border currently open is between Brazil and Paraguay.
When other countries say they’re open, it’s for air flights. Not border crossings with vehicles.
Many countries are still struggling with sickness and deaths. Brazil included.
If I thought land borders were opening any time soon I wouldn’t be leaving.
