fun riding down here in this area, but just be careful. Weekends are full of 4-wheelers trying to set land speed records and lots of cross roads with poor visibility. Been spooked more than once by some :asshat blasting through the interstection. The roads are plotted Dade County streets that never were built, but the trails are there and they meet at four way interstections. Many places it gets deep quickly so proceed through water with caution.

Note to self: Trains can't turn while on the track. Neither can I.

    ^^^ Nice pic.

Did you highside... and, if you did... was the throttle pinned when it happened?

Just trying to gather some info for an ADV field research study. :ear

If by field study, you mean a good laugh, then yes, I have plenty to provide to you:

Summary: I got my front tire wedged between the metal rail and cement outline-thing. I was trying to get out of it by steering right and after the third attempt, I allowed the beast to overcome me. Lesson learned: Stop the bike and move it out yourself. That s**t ain't movin otherwise.

I'm out. Moving this weekend. Our current 1/1 is going from $1380 to $1450 a month. Yeah, I like having money and space so we're leaving to a 2/2 for less. I will now live behind a Mexican and a Thai restaurant so hell yeah.

Next weekend, I'm for sure down for a ride.

Anybody have some good dirt road GPS tracks for South Florida they can share with me? I have a small group of guys who want to ride dirt this weekend from North Miami to Naples and back via as much dirt and gravel as possible. Thinking snake road and such but I've never been out there. Hoping someone on here might have a previously planned/traveled route they can share with me. Thanks in advance!

And if you'd like to join the ride by all means we'd love to have more!

the 690 would be a welcome addition! We're meeting in NMB but you could catch us on the way out West to save you the extra ride.

well....not much that i know of to cross the state on dirt...you can ride the gravel levee road along tamiami trail for a ways...when you get over by naples you can explore the squares in fracahatchee strand. also the everglades seafood festival is going on this weekend lots of bands and good food..close to the squares.
you could ride up 27 to holey lands wma and ride the levee roads to snake road...then take 75 to 29 and ride down to janes senic road and explore the squares...then eat seafood in everglades city.
im planning to go to the seafood festival and camp in the squares...may drag a few friends along.
