Thanks for the info on the Pleasant Ridge Road area. That was really fun. Still a bunch more to check out in that area too.

Funny, Pleasant Ridge Rd. doesn't show as unpaved on the topo map. Tried to hit a few of the places I noted in my area on Sunday and discovered that the warm weather, plus ground still below freezing equals a nice sheet of ice and a few of the inclinces were interesting indeed.

If you wanted to do it right you would join a club and help with the events. You would then learn the roads, know where NOT to go (which can cost us dearly) and justify your existance. A win win for everyone!!!!

Help comes in lots of ways. Help can be as basic as being availabe to ride so we do not go riding alone. You can help when we start riding to make sure the trails and roads we are going to use are still open. Help with clearing and sometimes talking to land owners to get new riding areas. Help making the route card and marking. Help the weekend of the event pre riding and riding sweep. Help after the event making sure everything was taken down. Help making the charity donations that keep our private trails open:norton. It all helps.

    PM me, we'll talk

came off Big Pine last fall on my Magna, intending to take Webster back towards home, my Zumo 660 said it was a through road...

it wasnt and I had to turn around....not before a couple creek crossings though

South of lake hope state park there are two abandoned railroad tunnels, both on gravel. Also on the north side of the park there is a number of gravel roads. Do a search for moonville and kings hollow tunnels.

I found a few un-improved roads by the Brush Creek Wilderness Area. Great stuff, lots of hills and ruts. Working on a ride report that will highlight these roads. I think there are a few more to find, I can't wait to get back there and look around some more! I've been finding them by looking on the GravelMap. Also, in Portage County Ohio 308 Coombs Road and 305 Mahan Parker Rd.

http://www.gravelmap.com - no S in maps! Awesome link. This helps me immensely with street bike riding as well, trying to connect the best of paved twisty roads with other non-gravel/dirt roads...
Now to get my KDX street plated. Currently only my vintage 2 smokers are street plated.

Well, in a week or so, I'll check out some township roads/ goat paths and post up. There were several in Vinton county that are basically enduro trails, but I haven't had time to check them out this year, due to lack of a riding partner. If they are still open, might have a fall ride from my place.
