You know your getting on in years when that is even recognized as possible excuse. Or a topic. Or even an experience. Cheers all.

Edit: excuse number 56 on why I ride alone.

I did not want to dirty up your ride report but since you did it yourself......

So now that stickers are no longer required can we get rid of the current ones on the plate or do have to wait until they expire?

I honestly don't know about that. I'm not even sure the Registries could give you a straight answer. I looked on line and could not find that info.

I wasn't really expecting an answer. My bike is registered until Oct 2022 so I will just wait and find out.

I asked at the local registries outlet about removing the stickers. I was told I could remove them if I wanted.

So will we all be getting new license plates come this fall? If so, will it have the "old" number or a new one? Got to admit, I am a bit behind on this.

When you get a new plate, in my experience it is a random number, whatever is next up in the box at the registry. A new number to try and remember when you check in at a hotel...

Einstein once said,"why memorize something you can look up". Of course he was referring to his own phone number.

A chill wind blows in the coming storm. But in the meantime we rode. Out Springbank road, across 22 and westward.

    _MG_1882.jpg
A stop at Sibald Pond and down 68 to where it winds down to join Hwy 40.

    _MG_1889.jpg
Despite the sunlight, we were on the edge of the front and little snowflakes were melting on my visor.

    _MG_1892.jpg
Another shot and we mounted up, now with the wind at our backs. The snow visible in the west behind us. Despite the thin layer of dry gravel, damp mud was just a twist of the wrist away below it.

We took a little detour down Powderface trail stopping just shy of where the gate is at the west / north end.

I knew someone would ask so this is what the conditions are like.

Almost ran over this little guy,

    _MG_1898.jpg
well OK, I made him and he was in no danger from me. Solar Radiation, that's another matter.

We ducked under #1 off 68 and ran east along twp 252 to 40th and back under #1 to Springbank Road and home. Short but sweet and good to be out trenching in the gravel again.

Sadly, on my way home today, along the SE Stoney Trail gravel bypass, two old livingroom chairs sitting beside the road, all covered in road spray.
Now if I had my way I'd zip tie the perp to one of the chairs and leave them out there for a night or two. There was a nice view and fresh air so it wouldn't be all bad.

and a few more from above. I thought with the wind warning we wouldn't be going but we did and it was nice to get out on the bike. I love heated gloves and jacket!!
