    gonna ride sat. april 16 possibly fs 1 from mad river to 299 . has anyone ridden it lately? is it snow free?

    forest service 1 is a great road that runs from 36 at Mad river to299 west of willow creek. It is about 50 miles of ridgetop with stunning views to the east and west.

    On a Topo map I found NS1 that goes from HWY 36/Mad River north/west. Can't fine it connecting to HWY 299 but looks like it would be a fun ride. Elevation looks to be over 5,000 ft in places. This early, snow might be a problem? I am interested!

    Seriously doubtful. Snow level dropped to 3500 today, and there's definitely snow on horse and grouse mountain. Maybe cruise to showers pass and head over kneeland. I'd meet ya for some grub if you cruise through.

    Rode the Bridgeville-Alderpoint road a couple days ago.
    On south end... burned out cars and trailers on road junctions.
    Must be trimmer's stuff left over from last year.
