Agree with Hop Sing about the buzzard pic. I have come close enough that I make sure they are gone before entering into their airspace. I did flush a covy of quail in eastern Washington. Took one to the head bone, two to the windshield, and one to the radiator. Not a lot of drama but a fair amount of hose work at the next gas station. The station guy told me about a couple on a Gold Wing the previous year. A pheasant flushed, rider ducked, passenger didn't. She died from a broken neck.

In Phoenix right now. Helping a friend clear out her husband's workshop. Jim passed away a little over a month ago. We had been friends for over forty years. Not only is it hard emotionally, but it is 111 degrees in the shop.

It's almost like bad juju to suggest a potential hazard. Just a couple of weeks ago on the Red Bluff sign in thread https://advrider.com/f/threads/red-bluff-sign-in.1085410/page-11 I stated I thought turkey vultures were the biggest road hazard. I have had a great many close encounters with them. In this case I thought they had all flown off and never saw the one that hit me. I can't tell you what a shock and surprise that was. My neck is still a little sore 9 days later.

Maybe you need to suggest a more pleasant hazard.

"You know what I hate? When 3 hot chicks flag you down, drag you into the woods for debauchery, then give you gas money and a milkshake of your flavor choice before sending you on your way. That's the absolute worst!"

You're right, that would be bad. I might be able to moderately satisfy the first hot chick but would leave the other 2 wanting and I am lactose intolerant.

Keep the details straight. Karma would be more like 3 sweaty fags and a hot non-dairy protein shake. Ok if you're into that.

    They say $20 is $20.

I'm not willing to test the theory though.

I've looked at that route on the maps for awhile... but have never investigated it on the ground.

Have been buy some ponds on the 'old toll' road... Patricks Creek to Gasquet (upper Patricks Creek). Believe they are old mining ponds.

If you take the river walk from Patricks creek downstream to the FS campground,
you will see several large diameter riveted iron pipes.
They look like old mining pipes.
