Odd that the van was left there. The running stream below would have triggered EPA alarms far and wide in most jurisdictions.

There were absorbent booms across the creek. Someone had been out to mitigate things.

And of course, it's a Toyota. They don't leak. :lol3

I still haven't figured out when it went off the road. Thinking about it, I'm wondering if it was even occupied when it went off.

Van was still in the creek today (Thurs 8th August).
Allegedly the county road department tried to get it out a couple days before.

Oh man don't even get me started. I'm so mad at Meredith right now. She got a new job as a flight nurse for Cal Ore. It is in BROOKINGS so she decided to get a new hybrid because the 4Runner gets like 17 mpg. So she buys a new Honda Insight (on my credit, since hers is abysmal) and then A MONTH LATER decides she hates her job at Cal Ore and is going back to St Joes. Oh, and she hates the brand new Honda and wants a 4Runner again since her commute went from 120 miles to 1 mile. What 4Runner? MY 4Runner.

So I take her stupid hybrid, "give" her my 4Runner, and trade in the hybrid for a nicer / newer Tacoma because I can't sell it outright and I'm gonna have to eat her stupid negative equity and at least I can make that sting a little less fucking with the numbers on a trade in.

End result, I don't need two pickup trucks and since the older one is paid for and fairly desirable, I can at least sell it and re-fatten my savings account; plus this gets us back to a more sensible 2 vehicles. It was nice having one car payment for a month.

    Here's the sale ad

Pickup truck I will be choosy about who gets to buy...

Wife is free to any home that wants her

Edit I should add that I told her repeatedly about the job, and the car, but am I listened to.... noooooo.... and I'm trying to bite my tongue in telling her now. She was just so goddamn excited to fly on a whirlybird that she lost her fucking mind for a minute

Nope. Cool rig though. I thought when I clicked on it, it was going to be a link to that piece of shit "Scamp" thing sitting on the west side of Walnut at Northridge.

I could have told her that those medivac copters aren’t all that much fun.
But of course I was a customer not a worker when I flew in one.

She actually likes the job and her co-workers but she works a 24 hr shift with 24 off, that then repeats 3-4 times before she gets a few days off in a row. So she drives 3 hours, works 24, drives 3 back; then has to go to bed early to drive 3 hours back up the next day so the 24 hours off is drastically cut short. Not a sustainable thing to do, especially when she didn't "need" the job and was taking about a 30% pay cut to do it. Plus the drive up there is dangerous and she's doing it in the early early morning when fog is bad and poor visibility makes it even worse.

You could have bought her 20 Hondas by the time you're getting unencumbered!

Marry the ogre. It belongs to her now. Nice paid for place on 50 acres, big garage, and a fat ass if you are into that.

    Damn. Sorry man,
I am only looking forward now. Too much good ahead of me. I have told others that the more it cost, the more it proved to be worth it. No more parasite in my life.
