I have a cheap digital watch stuffed in the clear top on my tankbag. No cell phone,no GPS,no movies during flight. Luddite. Rarely I will take a map.
    Clueless and proud.

Why a watch? Time should not exist on the bike.

No map in the tankbag, but I will work up turn by turn directions from Google maps and write them down and stuff that in the bag. That plan worked well until I let my date work up the directions. Her handwriting was much better than mine and she did well naming the roads and places we were going. She did not indicate 'left' or 'right' at any of the junctions. We didn't end up where we intended, but it worked out well despite that.

lost coast2.jpg Been busy of late and taken a ride for at least a month except short rides around town. Got out Yesterday for a bit on orders from SWMBO. Stopped at Valley Gro. in Ferndale for sandwich and fixens. Headed over Mattole Road. Haven't been that way in over a year. Nice weather and no crowds. Road was in it's typical poor shape. Just as you get comfortable with the surface, it turns to shit. The little GS is perfect for this

    Present.

I just got back from 20 days in Alaska yesterday. I turn my phone off and don't use the internet when I'm on trips.

Cleaning up ... and going through the (2,000) pics I took...

Am thinking your dogs got a lot more expensive. I know mine do when I travel.

We actually had a friend come and house sit so the dogs got to stay here in a familiar setting.

So I'm still working on my pics and blog (assuming a county road worker doesn't drop a goddamn tree on my head in the meantime, right Kenny?) but here's a few interesting pics. We did 20 days, 8100 miles, slept in back of the truck every night... did the entire south / southeast coast of Alaska that is accessible by car. Fantastic trip.

From the looks of his truck, this wasn't his first rodeo.
