I have a lowered BMW F700 if she wants to look at and ride it.
Sighs.... wife (and I) are getting old.
I may need to get her a KTM 390 Adventure bike... or just give her the WR250R.
    Dunno.

This tree is also just uphill of the Redwood House Ranch.
Believe it was an old 'Indian Trail' marker. Indians bent young
trees over... which (sometimes) grew up into odd shaped trees.
This one is now called 'The Shooters Tree'.

I didn't check the link. It was from HC history face book page showing one of the many plane crashes.
My dad was a radioman on a C47 IndoChina. After flying the "Hump" he didn't want to fly anywhere after the war. I still have his flight log book. DAD.jpg

Either one! Might as well give her a good first hand look/ride on it. See if she likes it.
Pretty much the same as the newer 650/700/800.

I bought it for taking the wife 'touring' riding... but... she's getting too old. Too much power for her.
She had double hip replacements last year... now she's complaining about her knees.

Nice looking bike. Black tank/Red frame. 3,700 miles.
Center stand, Crash bars. Madstead Windshield, Bark Busters, Couple driving lights.
Gets great gas mileage... 60-70 mpg cruising.

I have to go to Santa Rosa for medical appointments Monday/Tuesday. (Yeah, I've got problems too.)
Let me know if you/she want to take a look at it.

BTW: Enjoy yourself while you are young !!!

I was up in the Applegate lake, Mount Ashland area a few weeks back on the Husky. Temps were in the low 30’s up on the ridge tops.
    Make sure you bring layers.

Weaverville... Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.
Ukiah... Increasing clouds, with a high near 78.

Thanks. I guess we won't be needing to look at it. She decided on a V-Strom 650 (see next post). Plus "low" is no bueno, she's damn near 6-00 tall.

She looks super happy about it, too...

    Always. Thanks!

Rode up to Rogue River to check out what appeared to be a very clean, "old man owned" Strom on CL.

190 miles on the way up there, via my least favorite method of motorcycle riding - two up. Hate it! Stop banging my helmet, woman; and fucking sit still in the turns!

Strom was as expected, cherry AF. Meredith bought it (and we'll be listing her Honda for sale here shortly).

190 miles on the way back, which was no longer two up, and would have been glorious except it involved riding 199 in the rain, after dark. Not my cup of tea for sure but Meredith was hating life on a new-to-her bike which the PO had Armor All'd on every surface.

Anyway... it's a cool bike (for a Strom) and it has been named Beatrice. Like bee, get it?

Pictured clockwise from bottom - Bea, Meredith, Jim

Jim was an - ummm - interesting guy. 75 years old. German immigrant, though he told me he was from "east of Boston" when I asked him where he was from. He was selling the bike because he is moving. I asked him where, and he said "next door". He also had a like-new 1994 Viper under a tarp in his garage, next to his Prius.

This sweet tailbag was thrown in with the transaction. I believe Pooh brand has now been bought out by Giant Loop as it is, bar none, the most bad ass luggage system any hard-charging world-crossing dirt rider can buy.

It is also for sale. Should I give him your info? I figure it's a car for old dirty bastards going through some male menopausal shit so it's perfect for you.

I am a Vette guy. Comfortable, good handling, good gas milage, cheap parts,...
I drove my supercharged Vette from NY to California when I moved here. I am looking forward to more long trips in the new one with the new wife.

I am a dirty old man. I had no intentions of ever having another woman in my life after dealing with the manatee for so long. ( almost) Single life with a few bikes and a riding dog was great. Then I ran into a mermaid. I will tell you the rest in meatspace. Suffice it to say she is a real keeper.
