Looking to borrow doohickey tools. I'm in East Mesa. It's been a long time since I was active on this site but if you need to verify my trustworthiness check with Eddy or Nightstalkers or cyberdos.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Glen-
Check with inmate @Haldor . I believe he's putting together some sort of KLR tech day so he might know some people with the proper tools.

OK. I spoke with Bruce. If I end up making it a Saturday thing, maybe he, Karen, you and I can ride up there together, and then decide what to do. After the dusty clusterfuck two years ago, I suggest we run up 260 to 87 and pick up Lake Mary Rd. from that end and head in. Hell, I may even take the Busa if we do that.

I liked the dusty clusterfuck, but then again, you let me lead. :>)

It was actually less about the dust and more about the annoying traffic.

Am I the only one that thinks it is hilarious that a bunch of those guys had to be rescued out of the mud last year when they got a little rain?

    the answer is hell no.

FYI. Lake Mary Road is being repaved, so there is a couple miles of gravelish conditions.

The real hilarity ensued when some of those folks posted highly staged pics of themselves on a self described "overland expedition" without mentioning it was the campground at the expo. Reminds me of the Bear Grills "Man vs Motel" parodies, pan left slightly to cut out the portapotties and craft services truck :)

This could mean all GS riders stay home, or never leave the local Starbucks.

$25 to get in to this event. Damn, I don't remember it being so much a few years ago. I guess I am out of this event this year and I was wanting to go check out the vendors to see what they are selling. Oh well...............

edit: I checked out the cost for the one day pass and it's cheaper on Sunday. The last time I went was on a Sunday so that is why I don't remember paying too much. But, I also remember there were not too many vendors as most of them start packing up on Sunday morning to get out of there. Reidy008 and myself went on a Sunday a few years back and I am sure we didn't pay too much. But then again, not much to look at.

I'm blowing it off this year. They keep raising the price every year so we can go in and see a bunch of poser shit that nobody can afford and most of us don't want anyway.

What about the GS hanging in the air using a $900 Klim jacket? You guys don't want to see that? Shit, that's worth $50. :D

Bob, are you going with Bruce and Karen up to the Starbucks in Camp Verde? I'm meeting them there Saturday at 8:00, then we are riding up to the secret location near the expo, where Jim Jib is camping in his monster-like overland giant monster truck monster-like truck camping monster thingey for a visit.

Did I mention that this thing is a monster?

Well I WAS planning on going to check out some of that ~$800.00 luggage in person, but if everyone's gonna be so damn negative, I guess I won't go either. Lol
