Thanks Mike! I'll be in reno again one day, that's still home base. I'll back there around may. Perfect time to escape the heat down here and the snow should be melted enough to rip around the Sierras. See ya soon.

Hey guys, new to area, ready to dig a bike out of the moving mess and go for a ride. I lead dual sport tours to Mexico and Big Bend out of Houston, my old home. What is fun and close to North Phoenix? crf230f geared to go 70....

    Thx, Peter.

I think it's about time someone created a sticky thread called "I'm new to Phoenix, where do I go?" I was in the same situation not too long ago so I'll gladly contribute my tracks.

nsrides is all any newbie needs.

Maybe we can talk to Terry to piggyback off of his website and add our tracks since he's not riding anymore.

Thanks for the pointer to nsrides. I grew up riding a lot of these places as a kid, but I'm wanting to get back into trail riding after 30 years of mostly street and dual sport riding.

Once again a group of us are heading to BCC from New England. We'll be riding every day 2/25-3/4 mostly old jeep roads, washes and what ever we can find. BCC, north of lake pleasant to castle hot springs, Crow King to Mayer
and everything in between is the general area. I personally have been coming out every year for a while and have gotten to know the area pretty well. Our talent runs from B class racers to fairly novice riders all really laid back out to have fun, not bang bars. If any of you locals or newly transplanted want in let me know.

Hey JT, I think I saw you yesterday riding through the Stoplight at Vulture Mine Rd and Hwy 60 about 11A. However all you robust KLR riders kinda look alike!
Wish I could get away... but tied up with company until Tuesday...

Was it someone here who camped on the back side of Meteor Crater, getting in there via a dirt road? I'd like to pitch a tent on the edge.

Better plan on stealth mode. I hear it is posted private property, although "a friend" never saw the signs when he visited. That said, it is pretty remote back there. If one were to keep back from the rim and be out of sight from the north side visitor center and the Chavez Pass road on the west, It may be doable. Of course this is all conjecture and hear-say. YMMV

Which Az wanker is it that has a few bikes to rent? Belstaff? I have a buddy who wants to try out a couple of DS bikes.
