I'd get pretty excited over an R100 gs/gspd throwback model. A keep it simple stupid bike under 500lbs.

I see a lot of more road focused posts. I have an RT and GS and the RT is a much better road bike. Heated seats, more aerodynamic design, more fuel efficient, lower, 17” front wheel... I think if your looking for that type of stuff, you might consider riding an RT/ST/R or even and XR rather than the GS. Just my 2 cents.

I would not be surprised at all to see some sort of electric power system produced for a motorcycle by BMW. That's the trend right now.

Didn't someone post about BMW filing a patent for an electric front wheel drive system awhile back?

They won’t cut the weight or change the engine/running gear for quite a while....

The Nav will be integrated into the TFT, and the current BT mess will be sorted.

I am afraid we are all missing the important factor here, and this will go down like a lead balloon, but here goes.

We are old + will all be dead very soon.

Unless BMW offers something quickly that appeals to the youth, BMW Motorad will die with us.

To appeal to the youth the future GS (BMW's best selling product) must be powered by Solar.

    OK let the vitriol begin

Gimme a simplified 900cc throwback with less gee whiz electronics. Lighter, reliable, durable. Farkle as desired.

@MoodyGS Young folks do want (and fell they deserve) everything, but as a general rule, they don't have any money. It is hard for me to imagine the Germans, Japanese or any capitalist manufacturers tooling up to make FREE products for this section of market.

I'll trade you NO BEAK for air-oil cooled and that wonderful shift assist pro...I just love that feature.

Oh, keep your TFT and gimme analog gauges...But this time can they have white backgrounds and large black numbers? The small gray numbers on black background is very euro-stylish, but a bitch for us old folks to read.

@deadflagblues There are rumors of an 850 AT. Maybe in 2020? (Note: A full 2-3 years before the long awaited release of the T7), BUT to my knowledge, no AT has a drive shaft.

EDIT: The current AT is huge. And the 'newer' 1100-1200cc AT will be huger.

Automated transmission, 7 speed, true granny gear. Touchscreen doesn't work so well if wet and so forth do not expect that.

    Break away from Garmin.

No, the T700 is coming to the USA next year, hopefully the spring. It's already on sale in Europe; Australia this fall. Reviews love it. It will kill GS850 sales I suspect.

Sounds like some would like to see a roadster GS...might be a genre.
But then it wouldn’t be a GS would it.
The fatherland already made two hybrids called “HP2”...
