Buddy and I took off work Friday to fish a stretch of river I’d never fished before.

I caught this guy right across from the take out. My only fish of the day and caught it on a carp fly:lol3

Recently bought this cabin on a private lake in east Texas and started fishing again after a long layoff.

This is the view from the deck in back. Cabin is on the north side of the lake and there are ten cabins total.

This is the first decent sized fish I caught in that lake and it was on a 6 weight fly rod. It's roughly 4 pounds of channel catfish.

A couple of the bass, both in the 3.5-4.0 pound range.

There was a pretty heavy fog last Saturday morning when I went out. I love this pic I took just after daylight looking back toward the cabin from the south side of the lake.

That time of year, Trinity River steelhead on a copper John. Sorry for the crap pic, I dont like to handle the wild fish too much or pull em out of the water. Can see the jaw starting to hook, getting ready to spawn.
