I spent 80,000 miles on an 1150GS. With a few mods, I was able to make wind buffeting acceptable, but certainly not great. I wore ear plugs and spent most of my time on 2 lane roads where it wasn't as much an issue.

I recently bought a 1250RT and it is night and day different! With the stock adjustable windscreen I can decide how much wind I want at a push of a button. The aerodynamic front end certainly helps as well. At 80 mph on freeway, screen up, music in my ears from my Shure SE215's, cruise control set, it is like being in a 2 wheel car! First bike that I don't mind interstate travel. I still prefer 2 lane, but getting somewhere fast, can't beat the interstate.

I've been on a few 'day-trip' rides the past few weeks around the Texas Panhandle. We've had an abundance of rain for this time of year, so the rivers have water (a rarity) and the landscape is green, rather than our normal yellowish-brown.

The Red River in Palo Duro Canyon (normally its a sand wash).

Pretty cool courthouse in Channing. Hartley County Courthouse.

At one time I had a thing for Marakish red BMW’s (earlier post of my K75s) this’98 K12rs was my favorite until she blew her motor on the East side of Sherwin Pass (NE WA) at 63k miles - was once nimble as hell “over 7 mph” pretty as a peach 6C03CDDA-8DE1-4D2D-A0BE-A93D05ACDF5D.jpeg D43262A1-24F7-4069-B521-379709089695.jpeg but no comparison to my light grey metallic K16GT

Man. Used to ride the river a lot in NE Iowa and the Wisconsin driftless side for years. Moved a little further south last year and roads got straighter. Where is this pic?

Balltown overlook. The driftless area is a midwest riders goldmine...

I live just across from Sundown on Asbury road so it's great either direction.

My wife and I recently returned from an 8 day 1800 mile trip on the FJR, and one of the last days was through the Preston/Rushford/LaCrosse area. Will definitely be returning at some point.
