i would like to try using these two and have previously turned on swconnect to record my travel (at least i think i have).

i also have a spotwalla account.

however as i read the documentation i am unsure as to how these two should be working together.

can anyone give me a brief step by step on how to track a ride? i am thinking i should be able to save and then view this. later in may post or embed a link for a real time tracking of a trip.

    any help is appreciated!

    THANKS

Have you looked at this? https://spotwalla.com/help/devices.php
It has a section on "Creating & Updating an SWConnect iOS App Device".

I did the same thing with Android and BubblerGPS - it took some fiddling to get the device associated but it works nicely now.

These apps only work with cell service right? Won’t work on the backcountry?

correct. it's generally for street rides, where there is good cellular service. if you're looking for offline tracking that others can (yawwwwwnl) follow your progress in the middle of no where, you'll have to pay the prices/subscriptions for a spot/similar device
