If we held an overnight sasquatch expedition a couple days before the ride, would you go?

Today begins a 6 month countdown to another fun-filled ride we call SHAT 2020! The ride will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2020. This year's ride will take you through scenic south-central Indiana through Monroe, Brown, and Lawrence counties all while visiting some of the BEST sasquatch encounter locations that Indiana has to offer. Research has already started and the encounters are aplenty! Who knew Indiana had such a thriving sasquatch population!? Well....we did! Stay tuned to this thread for updates on camping, the route, and some other activities that we are working on. Who knows, there may even be a REAL sasquatch expedition this year for the real bigfoot enthusiast. WHOOOOP!!

EDIT 5/25/2020: Tracks are attached to this post. The full tracks are around 190 miles total which should give plenty of time for fun around the fire. Gas stops are plentiful so no issues there. A list of the encounters can be found at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CkT81HD-nUHjbhq_Ui_crsMf-Z8MtBlZtJPe7p_FxOs/edit?usp=sharing for downloading or printing.

Camping: Yellowwood State Forest (https://www.in.gov/dnr/forestry/files/fo-Yellowwood_map.pdf) will be base camp for the ride. No reservations are accepted so it's first come, first serve and they have 79 primitive (class C) sites. If electric sites are desired, I would recommend Brown County State Park just down the road. I plan to arrive at Yellowwood on May 27th and plan to have a Squatch Hunt on the evening/night of May 28th for those interested.

I may be able to make this one, late May date works well for me.
I've got some good campfire Squatch stories, some funny, some WTF.
There is a documented sighting at the end of my driveway....

I got us covered on the Squatch call / whistle. Really supposed to bring them in. Gotta use with caution!

Sasquatch in Indiana? Who knew? I though the PNW had all the surviving sasquatch's! It finally snowed here and now we can start tracking them again!

We consider it an adventure ride rather than a dual sport ride. You will be fine 2 up on a GS. We still have work to do on the route but expect a lot of gravel and country back roads. 2019 was our first year and there are some videos on youtube made by some of the attendees.

I don't want to speak for Brewski, but if you look at some of rural roads in and around Brown, Morgan and Lawrence Counties in Indiana that should give you a pretty good idea of the roads.

For instance, here's Brown County, IN. Morgan borders it to the northwest and Lawrence borders it to the Southwest. There are a lot of rolling hills and curvy country roads in the area.

    got it, thanks!!

Looks very similar to the Driftless Area in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota. We spend a lot of time up there.

we have a website promoting it called www.driftlessroadadventures.com

But we are always looking for new areas to ride. This looks like it might be rideable a little later in the season that it is around here!

The SHAT crew was out in force today just enjoying the sun and some of Indiana's best gravel roads. This gave us a chance to throw around some ideas and well, let's just say it'll be a ride everyone will remember! Stay tuned for details as I hope to have some things finalized before long. Whooop on!

The generosity and kindness of the motorcycle family never ceases to amaze me. Austin and his family at Hayco Farms have offered up their property as being base camp for SHAT 2020! This will give us the freedom to add some very fun activities to this year's ride that would not be possible at a state-run campground. Not only does Austin have some fun and technical trails on his property, but we can now have the freedom to test your abilities with some bike games. We're thinking a slow race, tube changing competition, and whatever else you all think will be fun. There may even be some unique trophies for the winners......I'll update post #1 with the details. This is going to be a hoot!!
