Yeah, Long Tom back of Yackandandah is one of those. Good fun hill, completely fucked by weekend warriors, too easily accessible.
The entrance to Blackfellows Handtrail from the Wolgan Rd side is rooted atm. If they can do that to flat track I can't imagine what they can do on a steep hill.
+1 I saw some footage on a ride video posted on youtube through there only a while back... and was appalled at the condition of the road (used to ride all over that area frequently in the '90's)... It was only for some of the rock formations (and the signs in the background in the pre-ride footage from where they started) - that I recognized the place. How in hell they've manage to create two and three foot deep channels on - pretty much - straight forward (like you say "flat") tracks is beyond belief. It must be a simple matter of the unfortunate 4WD culture that love to find wet boggy patches, then try to see "what me lifted GQ wif' 35's and a 'locker , can do mayte..." and chew it all up. (clearly).
I was there a month ago early in the morning and the road was already blocked with convoys in both direction. The more standard 4WDs were unlikely to make it through the deep bog holes. Fortunately, bikes could hug the sides of the track - just. Back to Victoria, and the Black River Track And Burgoyne The zig-zags have neutered Dingo Hill Billy Goat has a big name but isn't as steep as Cynthia, Herne, Hart and Water spurs
A nice climb from the floor of the acadia valley ,it has been pushed by a dozer and some big gibbers.Did a bit of a repair on a 690 clutch after it burnt out and wouldnt drive. Broke what was left of a friction into 1/4s and old mate got her back too springsure few hrs away. And yes i nearly launched my bike off the side of the climb, happy camper when top was reached.
Probably, in those days it was part of Woolford's property and Dywane Woolford was a gun enduro rider. Or the hill they used may have been the Widow Maker on the same property.
Sidetrack and Andrew2 would probably know the bit of Brokers rd and Hudson ave in Balgownie , they’re both pretty steep suburban streets. There is also about 200 metres of the north end of Eastern ave in Shellharbour that rivals them. Graham
Little hill climb just out of Woods Point always provided plenty of entertainment on Queens Birthday weekend rides. The gun Enduro guys made it look easy, the punters not so
I was looking for stuff on Caves to Caves and found the below and it seemed topical. Prepare to be dazzled by shit telly on youtube!
