His Indian is water cooled. A little more liquid from the sky won’t phase it.

I rode a Springfield Monday night. I’m not so sure the Scout isn’t the best bike Indian makes... but I haven’t ridden the FTR.

Hey, Brian and I have rode through hurricanes and tornadoes on our adventures. We've been so wet that one time when we stopped to get gas I took my gloves off and water ran out of my rainsuit like it was coming from a faucet. We've bought newspapers just for the purpose of stuffing them in our boots at night to start the next day with dry gear. Very wet would be an understatement for some of the weather we have been through.

His powers of eternal optimism have done us well since he started riding the Indian. We'll see if our luck holds out. :pope

I have rain gear and 100 % waterproof boots. Once the boots fill up they keep 100% of the rain in.

Classes start Monday and I'm looking forward to it.

Will miss the freedom to ride at will..but it makes you appreciate the saddle time you do get all the more.

Stressful week. Alyssa lives in Lake Charles (they were here for Jon's wedding and missed the storm) but her husband's place of employment blew away. Apartment seems fine, but no power and no water for weeks. Friends all ok...but significant damage to their homes.

Beautiful ride today. Talked to a couple of other riders when I stopped to check on them by the side of the road.

One guy said, "I'm just trying to figure out where I am!"

I said, "Don't ask me! I'm just following my front wheel!"

Really pretty country to ride in today. Takes a few minutes to get there...but there are some hills and rural spots not far from home.

So 2 weeks ago the owners of our shop called an emergency meeting to announce that they have sold the company. I met our new owners the next day and told them I have a vacation planned the week they take over. Thinking I would have to cancel me and jb2s plans. Much to my surprise they told me they would be mad if I didn't go. I said WOW!!
I think these guys will be alright.

So we will follow our front wheel, keep the rain in the clouds and we will have a fantastic adventure!!!

    Can't wait jb.

Joel: Glad they had an excuse to be away from home. 120mph winds are terrifying.

Cool ride you took there. I met a guy today ata a rest stop riding an Explorer 1200. Nice guy.

Did you know there is an Avon in South Dakota? It was a bit too far off my track to hit but I wanted too so bad.

    Elvis says “Hi”.

I got out and rode to Bloomfield Saturday on the KTM 790. My nephew sets up off-road race courses for the Extreme XC series, and they were having a race on a 250 acre farm down there. I'd never been to one. Pretty interesting, but you don't have to ride the course to get REALLY DIRTY! Dust was everywhere. Grit in the teeth kind of day... He took me out on course on his 4-wheeler. One lap was 6 miles, 15 minutes. Saw guys doing stuff that I'd have said wasn't possible. I got a few pictures, but mostly video. It may not stay on my phone long since I didn't know the riders, but just found it interesting and wanted to record just in case that was the guy/time that everything came down the hill backwards...

I get a dog-in-training Saturday, so my riding will be limited. The dog's name is Nugget. Cool name, but she was actually named after a "chicken nugget". That's inside info. She knows how to walk really well, but not ride, and side cars are forbidden.

That sounds like a great way to spend a day--except the grit part.

Nice shot! The Indian still looks great. Hope the forecast for the next several days is wrong. May prove to be real test of your eternal optimism.

Spent some time with the acoustic playing "Wicked Twisted Road" and thinking about friends out enjoying the twisted roads in southern Indiana before getting ready for work .

Be safe and have a great day of riding while I sit in the office!
