    Nice family gifts Joel!

Merry Christmas to you and all the other merry band of inmates that frequent your thread!

I'm going to work on being a kinder person in 2021 and after.
In that spirit here's a bit of inspiration.

    Bless you all.

P.S. Liked the cruise control discussion. Although you were teasing each other CC seriously is something that's high on my requirements list on a future touring bike. I may have to add it if it's not already on the bike.

Thanks, Jay! Merry Christmas to you and all other friends on here!

Got the new seat foam installed on the KLX yesterday. Should be a nice upgrade.

So far I haven't ridden far enough for enough days in a row that I want CC. Hope that changes at some point.

Merry Christmas to fellow Hoosier riders.

We had a for real blizzard yesterday. Snowed about five or six inches with 15-30 mph winds. True whiteout conditions from 1pm to 10 pm. It’s -7F now and the cold wave will last 48 hours. I put a spare heater in the shed with Elvis for whatever good it will do. I cleaned the driveway with Johnny Deere before the temperature fell but the plow had not come through yet. I could have a 2-3 foot pile at the end of my driveway. After starting at 32F as wet heavy snow it turned to sugar snow quickly and the blower was shooting it 20 feet into the air where the wind took it away.

I bought one motorcycle item for XMAS - a long distance rider chronicle. I’m hoping to learn something from it.

I spent four hours learning iMovie last night and finally made a video. You should be seeing some boring content from me soon - nothing new.

Again - Merry Christmas and Happy New Years!

I'm just trying to avoid broken collar bones, Bob! I'm not walking any dogs either!

The first month is the hardest. It could have been a LOT worse.

Some videos to help you appreciate Indiana.

My son and I got onto I-94 yesterday near the second video location because we figured it would be safer than the backroads going the 15 miles home. We exited a mile ahead of and probably an hour before the accident location in the video.

It was tough sledding out there. They closed I-94 yesterday afternoon due to the accident.

On a more positive note - I posted some ride videos to my Alaska blog.

Be safe to where you are heading! I don’t miss it at all, I use to pull chemical tanks from the mid west to Oregon. No Thanks. Merry Christmas!

    Safe Travels.

Been in storms like that and don't regret missing most of them now.

Remember going home northern MI to tell my folks we were going to have our first child. Driving my wife's Sentral. Got just past Grand Rapids and suddenly I could barely keep the car on the road at 35 mph. Was using my Death-grip 2000 white knuckle technique and watching car after car blast past me at 70mph. First big corner and the ditch was full of everybody that past me. Not fun.

    Same to you, Tim!

Tough job. Glad you found something else.

I've gotten over the death grip mentality and focus on remaining relaxed, calm, and focused. Admittedly, that's easier to do when one has a cell phone in hand and can readily afford a tow truck. My youngest son doesn't have enough miles under his belt and he was pretty tense the entire ride. I knew we were going to be cutting it close on timing. It wasn't so bad when walked into Barnes & Noble but it was a storm from hell when we came out. The wind was killer. Visibility was about 50 yards - not the worst I've ever seen but bad enough.

Here's the new v. old seat foam.

Here's the bike with the new seat and the new soft rack by Green Chili. The two support beams running the length of the rack are tire irons.

Still some adjusting to do to get it straight. The rack is designed to let the user attach nearly anything using a Molle strap system. Extremely light and it can be removed in seconds. I have a couple of dry bags and an extra fuel cylinder holster to attach when needed.

I also ordered a tactical shoulder holster to use as tailbag.

If I didn't know better I'd say you were preparing to go for more than an over-nighter. :lol3 :thumb

Tire irons and shoulder holster - sounds like Joel is lining up a post-retirement career as a hit man.

FWIW - I carry "tire irons" in my wallet... a ten digit phone number to HOG Roadside Assistance. :jack

I'm just getting the bike ready for whatever opportunities come my way! JB2 and I didn't get to take our Scramblers to TN, but I am still dreaming about getting off the beaten path. KY, TN, MI--matters not! Just want to go!
