    Just found out the hard way that AAA doesn't cover my moto--it's a recreational vehicle. They will provide a safety tow off the highway.

    AAA Plus or Pluss RV does cover it, could you upgrade it via www before the tow? I've had good service from AAA with Pluss RV. If you were on the other side of the state I could/would help you. Good luck!

    Most likely the fuel line in the tank split or the ignition sensor wiring in side the front cover. Open the gas filler and watch as you turn the bike on. If the hose I split you will see the waves in the fuel as it sprays. To test the hall sensor pull the plugs and turn the ignition on and try turning the engine over my using the rear wheel. If the ignition is good the fuel pump will run for a few seconds. If the hall sensor is bad the pump will not run.

    Good thoughts. Might post on KC BMW’s Facebook Page.

    Made me think of my old boat;

    Just north of there at Apache Flats there is supposed to be a UHaul center at House of Bargains. That is also close to the motorcycle shop in Jeff. From an internet search. It has been a while since I have been through there. The motorcycle shop is closed on Monday.

    Thanks all. Made it to my brother's in Columbia and all is good. Fuel line or pump is indeed the suspect and will follow up with the suggestions above.

    I am AAAPlus. Need additional RV coverage. Just a shitty surprise at that moment. Lesson: the large print giveth, and the small print taketh away. So I would have done well to read the fine print.

    Tried to upgrade to RV Plus on the phone, was told it takes 7 days. Maybe they don't have the interwebz.

    Glad to hear, my brother's came to my rescue a couple times. :thumb I finally did sign up for AAA with "rv" coverage just a couple months ago. They take their own sweet time getting cards mailed out.

    Thank you. Bike had three 1- to 2-second hesitations at about 1-min intervals before dying, seems to fit these possibilities.

    Must give AAA their props: they picked up the $50 hook fee for the trip.

    Hall sensor it is. Bike sat for a week in a dry garage, rolled off the trailer in KC and started and ran fine.

    For those of you who don't know your BMW history, the sensor is named for an engineer who didn't think we should ride motersickles in the rain. When illuminated, the Hall sensor idiot light shows a raindrop and a wagging finger.

    Good Sam provides motorcycle and RV roadside assistance. I switched about 10 years ago when I had the same issue with AAA
