My recollection of 2-stroke MX bikes is that running out of gas is one way to seize the motor. Hopefully the mighty banshee motor is healthy.

Sporty Two strokes are thirsty. I had a relatively stock Suzuki GT550 triple fitted with Bromlech pipes and the appropriate jetting and it averaged under 30mpg when ridden with a bit of derring-do. It drank so much fuel I couldn't afford to ride it much. I got just over 20mpg on one of those original white-tanked Kawasaki Mach IIIs once when young and very, very brave.

That's one way. Another is to completely chop the throttle without pulling the clutch in. I know this because a 'buddy' did this to my freshly rebuild RD400 race bike when he scared himself silly the first time it came on the pipe. Flatspotted the new K81R as well.

Funny you mention that... I was *just* looking at vintage Windjammer, BMW RT, and Rabid Transit fairings on evilBay.

Yep, they're good looking fairings! A now-deceased friend ordered on custom painted to match his R90s then a week before the delivery date, totaled the bike.

Last time I was down in the New Forest, we had some nice Beers on tap at one of the locals, I am guessing it was the New Forest Inn, Lyndhurst. :photog

Hey good to have a ride with the Yam this week. Certainly makes a great noise. I thought something was falling off the Norton. Great bike, great detail.

That's not bad at all, make sure your speedo is off cam so the feds can't use it against you!

You may need a gimbal to keep it pointing at the horizon!:D
