Ok- Now where is it that we're eating lunch on feb. 7th?
In Milfay was the last discussed. Never been there and I am sworn not to make eye contact! You been there??
got your PM spanky and floor camping at your place sounds okey dokie by me..my question is tho, is it 100% pavement to the camp ground or is it all back dirt roads? Depending on the answer sways my showing up or not..
Not real sure. Newner, Mr. Guy, anyone?? ... Meet DrLewall...if you haven't met yet... real fine fellow!
Can you guys assist with the info? SpankyXV
Feb. 7 is perfect, see ya'll there............
I would say you could find plenty of dirt to make the trip to Milfay but when I go to Arkansas I always go 66 to 16/62 to to Talequah so you might try the same but opposite. However if you want to ride dirt the whole way I am sure you can we can barely afford pavement in this state. We plan on riding the dirt around here but please keep in mind the riding dirt in Arkansas is like going disney world, riding dirt in Oklahoma is like going chucky cheese. Hope that helps!
Next time your through this way look me up. I'm about 1 mile north of Hwy.62 east of Ft. Gibson...except on the weekends. Then I am about 500 yards south of 62 in Prairie Grove, Ar. The twisties between Tahlequah and Westville are a blast!
well my delima is, being that far away, close to 100 miles from me, I would like to ride the harley over and it packs more camping gear (pavement only, not a dirt bike) but if it's mostly dirt, would be real hard to justify riding the XR400 over when top speed is only 60mph (geard for dirt), limited camping gear..thus is why I ask...now if by miricle I can sell both the harley and the XR by then and get that F800gs I want, then I wouldnt be worring so much..
If you want to come over, I have no problem riding a pavment loop and showing you around a little.
Thats funny, I live 1 mile north of Hwy 62 too. Just about 70 miles west of you.
am looking on my ATLAS map..where the heck is Stroud Lake?
I-44 between Tulsa and OKC... town of Stroud...just N.E. of there, North of I-44
should I bring toll money or a pike pass?..yeah I know, lottsa questions, but I won't know till I ask, right?
ok..found it..doesnt look like I need the pike pass...looks like there may be alot of dirt roads out that way..real tempting to ride the XR
Do it!.. Ride the XR
I'm voting for the XR... I was worried you would walk away from me on the Harley!! I'm planning on 16/62 west to Beggs and so traffic should be light...nice an easy! Straight as a string so nudge me every so often to wake me up!!
yeas, the harley will not only walk away from you, it will RUN away from you..but it will also go as slow as I want it too..now, I could very well trailer the XR to your house then we can ride from there..I reckon that sounds like a plan, eh?
Yes Sir...that sounds like a plan! How are you fixed for camp gear, tent, bag etc?
Lewall, you needs to ditch the Harley. It causes entirely too much worrying. Maybe I'll tag along and meet these OK guys with ya.
am retired Search and Rescue, done LOTS of camping and have a ton of gear, so I am good to go! Will only be able to strap on maybe 35 pounds of the ton on the XR tho.
