I subscribe to several custom bike websites like BikeExif, BikeBound, Cafe' Racer, etc. and it seems to me that 90% of the "custom" bikes are stupid, ugly, style statements about the "life style" the builder is selling. :gdog

The bikes themselves are often worse handling and/or performing after the work is done that they were stock from the factory. :fpalm

So, I'm going to post pictures of the "CUSTOM" bikes I find idiotic for your consideration. :hmmmmm
If you like it, or some part of a bike, speak up. :beer
My opinions are mine, you have your own and that's okay, obviously some people have enough money to buy these things from the pro builders to keep them in business.

The home hackers that try to sell their abysmal failures for absurd money on CL don't have a clue. :pep

Please keep comments clean and family friendly folks. :wave

Post pictures of custom builds that you consider ugly, moronic, cliche, stupid, and otherwise laughable. :lurk
And if you post pictures of my bikes, that's okay, I like them :D

I'm sure I am not the only one who looks at these "Custom" Builds in the bike shows and thinks "The Emperor isn't wearing any clothes".... :scratch

To start this Bike Abomination thread, here is a real work of art:

EDIT: If the bike is for sale, post the asking price, it adds to the amazement.
And, if you agree the bike pictured belongs in this thread, hit the "LIKE" button.
That doesn't mean you like the bike, just that you also think it a stupid ugly bike. :dirtdog

    This gem was yesterday's special

It could almost be a street tracker, except for the tires, mirror, and goof ball tank.

Back to BikeBound for this one:

Yep, that bike speaks to me...
I won't say what it says but it sure isn't "Lets go for a ride!"

I've seen some really nice Dual Sporster builds...

    This isn't one of them:

Yeah, right, any bike that might see some dirt, that has bar end mirrors? FAIL!

    The Hand Built Show... :scratch

Which one do you want in your garage?
Errr, I mean living room as art?

Make no mistake, I love good engineering and I can appreciate bikes built as art that will never be ridden.
Some builders have created amazing art, this thread is about custom bikes that were supposedly meant to be ridden.
So these bikes probably don't really belong here...
But I think some of you may not have seen them.

Why spend your loose change on a little 250 when for the same money ($30,000!) you could have one of these:

Yes! A Yamaha FZ-09 triple with 850cc and 115 hp

I could live with the street-tracker Kawasaki but I'd have to put normal tires on it.

In fact, all the bikes Droog Moto builds have the same, uh.... artistic.... uh.... style?

Maybe a Suzuki 650 or 1,000 (your choice) starting at $32,000

Perhaps you prefer a Kawasaki Ninja for your ride?

    Or a Triumph Daytona 675?

Back to picking on Kawasaki, they did this to a Z800 or Z1000:

That's a real dream, eh? And priced accordingly at $48,000! Starting price!!!!

Are people actually paying that kind of money, for that kind of custom bike????

Actually I like many of these. They are cool 1 off expressions of the creator. Much like a painting or maybe cool furniture designs. Of course none of these would cut it in production and each will have an extremely small market. I’m groovin the creativity. YMMV

    What have you designed lately.:-)

This one isn't terrible, and maybe not stupid, but to me it sure turned out ugly:

Yes, I know there will be some who like each of the bikes I post.
That's fine, keep watching there will probably be many more "custom" builds you will like :beer

You can look at my build threads here on adv to see what I have designed if you wish. :thumb

    I love the Aprillia SXV...
In either SuperMoto or Enduro modes

But some builders feel that they can improve them by customizing a few details:

While others think that is too mild and want to go wild, like this one:

Yes, that's a real special one for sure. Even comes with a welded up hardtail to fit in with the crowd. :loco
