I'm starting on my extended RTW trip this May. I'll be leeaving from Houston and plan on doing a four corners tour of North America first. From Houston, I'm following the border roads to the left coast. I've ordered some back roads maps for the California coast, and will probably follow PCH with a few jaunts off road. I plan on spending about 4 weeks in Alaska with a friend of mine before heading east towards Nova Scotia. I'm looking for "the road less traveled" across Canada and would rather not dip down to the South of the Great Lakes. Does anyone have any suggestions for a Cross-Canadian route similar to the James Bay Road or the Trans-Taiga Road. I realize that these are in Quebec, but I'm looking for something similar that runs from west to east. Any help would be greatly apprecieated and rewarded with lots of photos.
