The Tiger is a possibility. It probably is just as Japanese as any of the Jap bikes (meaning 60% Chinese, or Thai) that is assuming they don't have the same problems shipping.

Unfortunately in Oz it looks likes it's a bit expensive. Must be the special badges they install for Australia. :huh

Your right about the Strom. Not for me. And the Triumph is really nice, and Ill own one one day, but I just sold my F8 , and it's just too close to that for now. So I'll wait it out.
Now if the Aprillia Tuareg was released.............:lol3

Actually, I'm getting quotes on one now. Finding it is the hard part.

I ordered my S10 in mid-October. Yamaha Corporate says it will be at the dealer's mid-July....a woman could make a baby in that amount of time

When we were waiting on the F650GS (wife's bike) they put up some pictures of containers washed up on shore, and guys putting together a beemer out of the crate!

Better not see one of those with the Super Tenere! :rofl

July or August is not acceptable for me. I sold my previous bike over the winter with the understanding that delivery of my blue ST would be in May 2011. I have tentative plans for a trip in mid/late June and potentially no bike now. Not cool Yamaha.:huh I called my dealer today and informed them that no bike in May means no sale as my sales contract states delivery in May 2011. I politely explained my reasons why.
The kicker is that I really want the ST. However, I'm not going to piss money away by buying something else or rent short term while waiting for July/August. Half the season gone by then in the Northeast.

Yamaha is going to kick this bike in the balls before it even has a chance with late summer deliveries. Watch the last orders coming in now slow to a crawl because of this news. They should have been produceing the ordered bikes already, in my "non asked for" opinion. You dont deliver bikes on the ass end of the season. I mean, they can, and will of course, but some aint gonna be happy. And I bet it will cost them sales numbers And Yamaha could get a flawed model of the sales potential in the U.S. They should have just produced the dam bike and quit playing games like Triumph did with the new Tiger XC. Even May was not a great call if you think about it. May or June should have been the late ordered bikes. And now it's not even May, it's June for those fellas who dropped coin on day 1. Which is not too far off base I guess. But August ?
Its like trying to sell snowmobiles but you wont get it until March. :lol3

That being said, I'll still wait it out though. .............I think. :1drink

Looks like I am going to be putting a lot of miles on my '09 KLR650 before my S10 arrives as my '06 Triumph Tiger is leaving (sold) tonight on a transport service trailer for Minnesota (and it's new owner).

Anybody have a relatively direct email address for someone at Yamaha to complain to?

Maybe while you are waiting you could fill in some of the time by going down to the triumph dealer for a test ride, they might even sell you a bike! :lol3

You could save about 50Kg while you where at it! :amazon

I don't think I want an 800XC, but it doesn't hurt to try something different so I am off for a test ride when I can!
