Thanks a mil creeper. Got creeper's SAM v1.0 yesterday in the mail. (whistle) Sure is purdy! As soon as I have the jets (I am going to try the Harley performance carb jets (Mikuni) - somebody said they work in the KTM BST (All hail the BeaST! :bow ) - then I can install all this stuff. Any recommendation on the sizes I should grab? I am interested in California from the Bay Area (sea level) into the Sierra sometimes (8K). :ear

Anyone have a link to Flanny's carb slide drilling business? I have read the chatter but never seen any pics or description. :ear

I know this is gonna get creeper going again with his "perpetually pathetic sounding bastage" rant... :nod

    Meat,

Most folks here tend to go pretty fat. I've seen as high as 175 recommended. I'm running an open airbox with the IDS2 (Q) on my '03 and have yet to move to anything above the OEM 152.5. I live at 6,000 feet and ride up from there, so I think I'm still on the rich side.

Maybe a 157.5 or a 160 would be a good sea level starting point :deal

    All hail the BST

What Chris said. Best for me with a 157.5 with 8 discs and a quiet core... 160 with 9 to 12.
Needle clip on the fourth position from the top. Drill slide holes .110" to .125". Don't pinch the diaphram and pay attention to how the needle retention parts come out. :nod
Haven't had cause to richen the pilot circuit... others indicate they have.
With engine at operating temp, set idle at 1600 rpm, adjust the idle mix screw for bestest fastest idle (ususally between 1.75 -2.50 turns out from seated) and readjust idle back to 1600 rpm.
Mikuni Harley HSR main jets fit.

B-bye, you "perpetually pathetic sounding bastage" :wave

Everything he said. Also, unless you've made some gizmo to adjust the IM screw, wear some fire proof gloves :lol3

I have one of these and it works well with the short extension. There are about 50 different other ways to get that screw turned without busting knuckles or burning flesh. :thumb

We were all waiting... thanks for ruining it. :lol3

Actually I thought Drift10 would get sick of requests for his side airbox mod (free!) and come complain himself! :rofl

Sorry creeper, y'all are giving me such good advice that I just couldn't stand it. Plus I found Rabia's new smiley collection. A+ :thumb

I was supposed to go riding this saturday in the northernmost section of the Los Padres Nat. Forest with a friend from work but without askin me the jerk followed his wank and invited two single chicks from work to ride up to S.F. with us... :huh

Then he planned on inviting them back over to his house for some margaritas and food. Then he really gets subtle: how about a game of Twister? And then some hot tubin'? OMG, this gut is randy right? The pathetic part is that these are people we have to work with, he has a great (and sexy) girlfriend who happens to be in school in Jersey, and I have a 7 month pregnant wife... :bluduh

So WTF was he thinkin'? He wasn't; just another guy following his pointer. :lol3 "That way? OK." :tb
