We know you’ve seen our name around the ADV Rider forum, seen some of our products, and quite possibly have our products on your bike. But, what do you know about us?

We love the Honda Monkey--don't you?
    SW Motech Tank Bags

We aren’t simply a motorcycle accessory company that popped up twenty years ago. We were founded in 1999 by three enthusiastic motorcyclists, and there are now more than 260 bright minds behind the brand with the red bull. Our North America division is extra special in that we have a design-based relationship with Twisted Throttle—we are creating products for the way our American and Canadian friends want to outfit their bikes.

    Keep your engine protected
    SW Motech Crash Bars

If you didn’t already know, our product range encompasses luggage systems, including the EVO carrier and tank bag, and accessories for navigation and power supply as well as motorcycle gear for ergonomics, safety and maintenance use. Among the product range are handlebar mounting kits, gear levers and footrest kits, handguards, mirror extensions, crash bars and engine guards as well as fog and off-road lights. SW-MOTECH also produces systems for bar positioning and vibration dampening.

If you’re looking for an accessory for your bike, we probably make it. If you have questions about our products, we want to answer them for you, and we are hoping this will be the space for it.

    Calling all overlanders!

Are you headed to Overland Expo this weekend? We are!

Twisted Throttle will have a booth in Motorcycle Village with a demo bike showcasing our products on a GS. Come see what our protection and luggage systems look like.

If you are thinking new luggage might be in your future for that next long haul to South America or Alaska, they will also have demo luggage for you to check fitment and utility on your own moto. If you’ve wondered how our Evo Tank Bags work with the ring mounting system, we’ll show you. Doing a scrambler build? Check out the design as well as functionality of our Legend Gear.

Stop by the booth with your bike, meet Mr. Twisted himself, and see what we’ve got. Twisted throttle will be offering discount codes for anyone who comes by and says hi, and they are good on anything you order from Twisted Throttle for the whole week following the show.

We look forward to meeting you and seeing what you ride!

Is it possible to get an extra base/mount for the Evo Enduro tank bag or better yet, a magnetic mount instead of the strap mount for the same bag?

I am sorry to say it is not possible to get either for that bag. :( You have to swap the straps/base if you want to move it from bike to bike. Our gas tank ring bags are the best for swapping if that is what you are looking to do.

The riding season is officially here. Even in areas where the weather seems to be remaining questionable for a longer period of time than we are used to, people are getting out. Rally season is getting underway, and that means some longer travel for some.

Where are you stashing all of your important stuff?

We have tank bag solutions for every bike, and every style of rider. Whether you are doing some long distance touring and need more space, or doing a ton of off-road riding where you need to be standing and moving up on to your tank more, we have a size that will accommodate you. If super quick removal in order to gas up or tank a bag inside with you is important, we have gas tank ring mounting that will have you covered.

If you like a more traditional bag that attaches with straps, we have those too. The SW Motech Enduro Tank Bag utilizes a base that straps on to the bike, but is removed easily from the base using a zipper, so the straps stay where they are when you are fueling your bike or your self.

Are you doing a sexy Scrambler build? We have the tank bags in our SW Motech Legend Line This bag has various mounting styles, including straps or magnets, and has the retro look that fits your bike so well.

We have the tank bag of your moto dreams! Check out the full line-up and see which fits your bike and style best!

I’m considering getting the Larger GS evo tank bag for my 2015 R1200GS Adventure but haven’t been able to find any good pictures of how it looks and fits on this bike. Worried it may get in the way when standing up? Do you have some pics you could post of the GS Evo on this bike? Thanks

Hey @Yatzee426 -- here is a video an inmate posted in the SW Motech GS Tank Bag Thread. There are also some pics of the bag on different year bikes in that thread. Check it out!

Thanks to @UnclebudinTX for sharing the video! He is on a 2014 GSA.

Do you guys plan on making, or would consider making a quick-lock tankring adapter for the RE Himalayan? My EVO Engage tank bag would work perfect on my wife's Himalayan and all we need is the tankring.

The bike is popular and gaining traction so there could be a lot of potential for increased sales :thumb

Thank you for the suggestion. These bikes are gaining in popularity for sure, and not just here in the states. A friend of mine has one headed to him in Cuenca, Ecuador!

I will pass on this message, and see if there is anything in the works!

    Cheers!

Have you spent an awesome day riding off-road, only to get home and realize your back was sore not from unexpected dismounts or picking your beast up after a nap, but from your less than optimal riding position?

Are you tall and finding yourself hunching down to get to your bars and controls while riding off-road?

Are you like me--short and reaching for bars on a bike that was ergonomically designed for someone 6" taller than you?

A great first step in solving some of these issues is bar risers or bar backs. If you just need a little bit of extra lift in the bars, a set of bar risers can get your bars into a position where they can be rolled right into your hands.

    1250risers.jpg

If you need more assistance for reach, even while sitting, bar backs will go a long way to help getting you comfortable.

    barbacks.jpg

We love riding! If you're uncomfortable at the end of the day, it can ruin your fun. Check out all the bar risers and bar back available. You can find them at our North American importer, Twisted Throttle. Let us know if you have questions about which are appropriate for you and your riding style.

SW-MOTECH now has the Yamaha Tenere 700 (aka T7) in our prototyping facility in Germany! We'll be developing crashbars, luggage systems, skid plates, and more goodies over the next few weeks, and will be releasing products in October 2019. While we're in development, we want your feedback:
    - What gear and widgets would you like us to produce for the bike?
    - What features do you want us to include?

Okay so after a month and a 4300km trip through the Balcans on the T7 here it goes:

Wider transparent side panels/deflectors from the windshield to have better wind protection (in red)
    IMG_20190829_184039.jpg

    Taller and shorter windscreen options.

A solution to cover the open space between the tank and the instrument cluster where the forks are, the air coming up creates wind turbulence when riding.

    Lightweight rear rack and frames.

Slim tail tidy license plate holder

A rally like bashplate that connects up to the body panels like the T7 prototype. 2017-Yamaha-T7-Concept-6-850x533.jpg

Please make separate crash bars and engine guards! I think that many will be interested only to engine guards to keep weight low!
    Good skid plate.
And I agree for the fork shield to reduce turbulence!

Waterpump protection (lower crashbars) should be the first thing to look into, offroad that will be vital!!!!

And a soft luggage rack like the rack Yamaha has for the cases but then for soft panniers (MAGADAN for example), also for offroad use.
