Hi Gang, Just purchase a SWM RS650R last week was running fine a few days ago. When to start and warm up the bike and as soon as the fuel pump is prime and pressurised the fuel connector pops off and fuel pisses everywhere. Put the fuel connector back I can hear a click, prime the fuel pump and the connector pops off again. Is there a circlip that hold the fuel connector in place? The TE630 workshop manual shows one but not sure on the SWM. Is the fuel connector keyed in anyway, or you need to push and twist to secure it??? any help would be great.
IIRC there was one on my Superdual; not sure which exactly I haven't seen my bike 10mo. I think it was red.. maybe grey?
Sorted this out. The previous owner took the fuel tank off via this fuel connector rather than the quick release at the fuel injector rail. By removing the tank at the fuel pump end it bends the captive clips that stops the fuel connector from popping out under pressure. the TE630 uses a circlip the SWM uses a plastic captive retainer clip. Mental note, when removing the fuel tank, unclip the fuel line at the fuel injector rail side.
