    uurrrgghhhh

Bureau of Meteorology has for sydney:

    and for the Hunter region:

PS: for mudplugging, i slow down and ride slowly though as i'm not sure what the surface underneath is. That, and I don't want to hit it at speed and have a huge force of water slowing me down and throwing me over the bars.

But taking it slow means i don't have much momentum and so with not much traction, I get bogged if it's deep mud, and have to walk and paddle the bike out (if the mud hasn't sucked the bike down).

But i do throw lots of mud out at whatever is behind me :lol3

oh crap.. rain. if i had knobbies i wouldn't mind bush bashing in the rain, but that clay was pretty slippery even days after the rain. hmm.

Just to confirm myself and two other Dr's from Newcastle will be at the turnoff to Walkers ridge road at kulnura around 10.30.....is this right? Fresh knobbies fitted and the bike is "under log" mode ie screen removed and no ventura rack fitted.
See you saturday (I'm the one on the yellow bike!!!!)

Rubbercow, Yep the turn off from george downes road, you'll see a map display and a gravel road. Wait for us at the map display, right at the turnoff, if we don't get there first.

    grrrrr

have to work on sunday...... grrrrr so i'm now a no goer.

    re the GS falling apart....

but it keeps me in good stead with my BMW dealer when i donate money for some cheap plastic parts, and I get to test ride all the latest BMW's as free courtesy bikes when I drop mine in for a service :evil

Besides, the parts falling off it gives me a breadcrumb trail to follow back home when the bike finally breaks down on some forest road and the GPS batteries go flat while walking back out :jump

    Hey Yautja,

I think you should tell your friends how the ride went yesterday, especially the "road" back to Ourimbah.

haha snapey.. yes i think i will. Wish i had pictures, camera battery was flat.

We went back through t he forest following the know-it-all GPS and it was looking good until we reached a road that no man had rode before.. for awhile.

Lifted the two DRs over a log, and ventured in. Got dense, moved a couple small trees out of the way, over another small log, then it got too dense and steep. turned around and i attempt to go back up this hill, with only slicks to grip.
Dropped it mid-hill, picked her up and snapey gives me a push and up i go with the rear end all over the place, after i get up the hill i realise i was in 2nd gear..

Got outta there, fuelled up and hit the freeway home.. the headwind was nasty.

    hahaaaa

you nutters! sounded like you guys had heaps of fun....

but they're DR's, not trial bikes

well the GS is working now. It was probably making some complaints and excuses so it didn't have to face getting it's ass whipped by bikes that cost half the price.

but man.... they're DR's... not KTM 200 EXC's!!! (still can't get over it)

so... who wants to ride up to Barrington Tops for some snow riding :vardy

Is it snowing there at the moment? I am heading through to Barrington Tops camping on Saturday night so I hope it isn't too cold (a cold night in Casino is 6C)?

bureau doesn't say so, and it's about 5C too warm. though, two weeks ago it was snowing there.

we'll see. camping in mid winter, in Barrington Tops doesn't hold much appeal. Maybe in a few months when it warms up, and then go though Barrington Tops, Buladelah, down to Old Bar beach overnight, and ride down from Seal Rocks to Hawks Nest and on to Stockton Beach.
