I get that and don't take it personally. Some seem too. I didn't really think my comment on, what was it 5th post? was going to be such a trigger! There are some snowflakes on this board.
I don’t think there are any standouts in the snowflake realm around here. Some of us aspire to a higher level of congeniality, and maybe, depending on whose toes you’re standing on, and how much time they spend in the basement, they may snap back. This kind of thing is fairly unusual in here and it’s the reason you’re getting the business end of this one.
There's a holed diaphragm and a ripped diaphragm. Each will give different symptoms.
I suffered a ripped diaphragm years ago shortly after a 300k cruising altitude ride. Instant bog at wide throttle opening on the affected cylinder.
My brother suffered a ripped diaphragm the day before, after the same 300k ride. Both '81 RS.
He fixed his with a land rover carb part and I got a patch. Enough to get me 900k home.
If you asked me how to get to NYC I could give you dozens off answers, most of them not what you want. Do you want a route? A means of transportation?, etc.
