Thanks to your post, I had to look up Kazakhstan and learn more about it, because the people didn't look like I expected. Now I see it is next to Mongolia, so it all makes sense (the Vodka, I expected.) I really appreciate your photos and feel like I am there with you in a place I'm pretty sure I'll never get to go.

Fair play to you for admitting to that, I think I may have kept that to myself :hmmmmm

Still one of my favorite RRs, thanks Wes. As for Kyrgs, I'm in India right now for a conference and the guy sitting next to me for last 3 days is from Kyrgyzstan, really nice guy and from what he says the country is changing fast, "modernizing" as we say, I guess for better or worse that's the way things have always evolved.

Wow! That video was magnificent!! Blew my mind with the Milky Way! Made me realize how much of the beauty I've been missing due to where I've been living. New goal: see the galaxy like that!

I'm just looking into getting some aluminium panniers made Wes and am having an internal aluminium pocket added.

I know this is not the same as soft luggage which I know is down to personal taste and preference. I want to keep my travel documents flat and also my iPad protected. They'll also be a lot easier to find amongst my other stuff as well I hope!
