Did not get far with my test ride. Bike does not do anything when pressing start button 9 out of 10 times. Battery should be OK 13.6V. I suspect it is the kill and light buttons assembly, which stopped working awhile ago. Took some temporary wiring from home, will try with this.

Should replace this crap factory wiring with something better in long term.

And countershaft seal is leaking again. Seems like everytime I leave bike somewhere longer, it is punishing me afterwards. Just replaced the seal in Angola, I guess I did not do a good job.

Are you using a stock washer?
Have you tried a dirt tricks one? It's supposed to cure the leaking.

Realised I have not posted anything from Botswana as I broke my phone. Had only small Osmo Pocket for pics, so not the best pics.

Although it is limited where you can go here, it was still quite fun and will be back here probably already this trip after South Africa.

Magkadikgadi Pans was one place you are allowed to ride motorcycle off the tarmac. Great fun, did not see anybody whole day other than riding next to Wildbeasts and Ostriches.

Did a day safari to Moremi National Park, lots of elephants, giraffes and hippos. Antelopes are called McDonalds of Lions because of the M letter on their ass. Sadly did not see any predadors, have to stay longer for that, but it is expensive without your own car. You could see also elephants roaming around main roads, sadly did not capture photo of it. Hard to capture it with Osmo Pocket when big animals are 20m from you.

Good thing is that I found the culprit for bike not starting: ignition key harness. So bike starts fine now.

Bad thing is that I have no way to stop the bike now other that engine killing. Old kill switch does not work and the one i took from home is from different KTM bike and is a bit different, have no idea how to connect it yet.

Great update. Pics are fine. If you need help with your electrics, ask on the WildDog.co.za forum. It's the ADVrider of Southern Africa and filled with extremely helpful, kind, and skilled people. I'm sure someone knows a bike electrician near you.

Sucks that they only gave you a 40 day Visa normally it is easy to get a 90 day Visa but I guess New South Africa just be very careful

They gave me days only according to the travel plan I gave them, same was with Namibia. Should have just made my plan longer, but probably will try extend when in SA.

They give 90 days to countries that are visa free, Estonia is not one of them. 40 days still better than 11 days I got for Namibia :D

I think I have MM R80 seated quite well now and will continue like that. If I would start now from home, I could try alternatives, but changing things on the road is a bit limited. Enduristan stuff definitely looks like something that could work well on 450.

Just did a first test ride to town and seems to be quite stable. Will see how it will be on hard trails.

Not really much of a problems, all minors so far. Bike has never left me on the road, even after drowning it, so really can't complain on that sense. I really thought there will be more problems with the bike before starting the trip.

Bike got new rocker arms today. Tips of the arms showed some wear, so decided to change them, not really sure if there was need. Will be good for the peace of the mind.

Still camping near Gaborone, but will hit the road in 1-2 days.

Seems like Corona is getting to Africa. From the news sounds like Lesotho border is closed, both in and and out. So have to change my plans.

I think we will see all border close within the next two week - if not faster on the globe. In Europe shutdown already started.

International flight will shut down very fast. So either you fly home NOW - or you will stay where you are for some month.
For the next six month I expect every border crossing to be combined with 14 days of quarantine.
