The Green Swamp loop was absolutley awesome today. My first time on many of those roads. Rock Ridge Road and Green Pond Road are amazing. A little bumpy but some of the best back road twisties l have ever ridden.

Last Sunday l rode the Green Swamp loop. Wow what fun discovering some new backwoods twisties l had never been on before. A lttle bumpy in places but the CB just soaked it up with a smile. Today l did my 41 south loop to my favorite Italian Grille lunch spot in Parrish. Yummy. Great weather. Great fun.

Lemme fix my cush drive bearing on my VStar and I'll join you on one of your Sunday rides.

I was on the way up to the Smokey Mtns. last week and made it almost to Macon when the bike started acting like it was over rumble strips. Long story short, cush drive bearing overheated the belt tension adjusters in the swingarm and melted them, allowing the axle to slide forward and make the belt really loose. Yes, it was really hot. I could barely touch the swingarm with gloves on.

Would be cool to meet up sometime. I’m familiar with the back roads in E. Hillsborough and W. Polk counties out in mine country as well as San Ann and Dade City.

Looking forward to cooler weather however. I had to work a bicycle race in Pinellas Park yesterday and got cooked and soaked....was a tough day, 200+ miles in about 6 hours. Someone at the races took this on FB.

    Cool.
What’s ironic is you have a helmet, jacket, pants, boots and gloves. When I see bike riders they have a bike helmet and Lycra. They are going just as fast as you. Just an observation.

    Da rulez require da gear.

They aren’t on a 600 pound motorcycle doing five different things at once while riding with 50-100 people on bicycles and paying attention to the road either.

Hell no, that bike was a rolling boat anchor once I got off the highway. I put pics in Road Warriors if you wanna see the carnage.

Geico got me to Valdosta, then my folks (retired in Ft. Myers) lined up a small trailer and headed north with no questions asked. Spent the night in Valdosta, treated the folks to some TX Roadhouse, then headed home the following day.

The worst part was the whole debacle cost me as much as the trip would have been had there been no issues. :baldy

We riding tomorrow. Meet up at 9:00 in Zephyrhills (301 and Chancey Road). I am planning to have some breakfasts at the 2 Minutes Restaraunt just up the road around 8:00 if anyone is an early bird.
DBM has a route through the Green Swamp. This is a nice area to ride.
    Any other interest?

DBM really did the route, I was just the mooch. I do know we rode Green Pond, Tribley and Curley roads. They were pretty good roads as far as roads go in Florida.
Also enjoyed a decent breakfast at 2 Minute in Z-hills (not sure what they were going for with THAT name) and a pretty good burrito in San Antonio.
A few roads were calling to me off 50 at Richloam but I am sure I would have killed myself so all is well passing them by. I may join up with the Polar ride in January and take the training weeks class and then return to Richloam some day.
All and all I can’t think of a better way to spend 9 hours of a Sunday in The Great State of Florida.
Now back to the pool and George Straight - out.

Today was most spectacular. Had a blast with my new Beemer friends. The weather was perfect ( no rain). Can't wait to do it again. My chicken strips are almost gone.
