Not sure if this has been covered yet so I'll post it for the general audience.

    Somebody's wishes have come true.

On Nov 22 the Scotia Prince Cruises company launched it's inaugural voyage from Tampa to the Yucatan.

The cruise prices start at $75 but that doesn't include port charges etc.
It's a 35 hour journey and you can bring your vehicle for an additional charge.
They are making the run twice weekly Friday night and Tuesday from Tampa.

For those of you who were interested, this trial ends in April of 2003. At that time the line will decide if it's feasible to continue the service. I think the ship returns to the New England ferry run service at that time and will be available in Nov 2003 for the Yucatan run again.

It seems to me that this would be perfect for adventure bikers types looking for adventure during the winter months. Cruise over and ride home. Or vice versa.

By the way if you are wondering what you'll do for the 35 hour cruise, the ship has a full casino that is open once the ship clears US waters.

This would be cool. My wife and I have got to go to Florida for a wedding this fall. We could ride over, do the wedding thing, then cruise to Cancun and ride up the gulf coast and home to Texas.

    This is very COOL!!!
I like it. My first thought....combine this with Bike Week. Ride down to FL do the the bike week thing for a couple of days, then hop over to Tampa jump on the boat with our bikes, hit the Yucatan and ride back home.

Anybody interested in a AdvRider cruise to Mexico???
    Could be wild....:jump
