As we were now running late our morning tea stop became a lunch stop at the Toko Tavern. And then on to the Huinga tunnel.

We then continued on to the Tangahoe tunnel - one that I hadn't been through before. Interesting history with this one as it was closed a few years ago after a partial collapse and a cutting was put through the hill alongside it. After the cutting collapsed they fixed it and reopened the tunnel.

Hi @oldbeer. After almost two years in the naughty corner (and during that time lots of push bike riding) I got a new battery for the bike this week, and started her up yesterday. Next stop for the bike will be AFC motorcycles in Palmerston North for service. Then we will get this thread going again, looking forward to doing some exploring that doesn’t involve peddling uphills.

My one worry is how much my riding gear has shrunk while hanging in the cupboard!

As they say “watch this space”.

Yay! About bloody time. There's not enough Naki on here by a very long shot.
If you're going to AFC are you gunna trade it for a 790Rally? Or whatever they bring out next week!? There's a rumour it will be 790 R Rally EXC turbo. (I know because I started the rumour)

:clapLooking forward to a few pics (when it warms up a bit) :clap

New bikes are always tempting BUT the size of the cheque I would need to write to replace a bike that does everything that I need it to do is not worth it (or so I keep telling myself!)
