Not sure if you can see this video in the link below but on our way to Trinidad we were just west of Dodge City, KS. Missed a turn and decided to head down a dirt road instead of doing a U turn. We couldn't keep the truck on the dirt road, it was like driving on ice. I've heard about how bad it can get in OK, if it is anything like what we experienced in KS, I don't see how we could have ridden our bikes on this road.

OK mud should be taken very seriously! Route around it!

Thanks. I got it to play, that looks bad. I’m going to pave it to Ponca City and probably to Alva too today in search of a new rear tire. I think this extra weight is eating up my tire really fast, at this rate I’ll only a day or two left on it. Thanks again for the intel.

Is there a list of sights to see along the way? I’ve got the gpx tracks but curious how to know landmarks to see.

Would love to see a picture of your setup with the trailer. And would like a report as to how it works out. Or is this 'old hat' for you?

Yeah, it got a little quiet around here, didn't it? As the OP, I apologize again for not keeping up the front page with folks travel plans. Good to see that some riders are still out there hitting the trails. I've pretty much stayed around home these days; no big trips.

A buddy and I are planning on doing the TAT again in July/August of '22. The planning is so much easier the second time around.

I would like to hit it again as well but better mixing of Sam/Kevin tracks on a smaller bike now that I have more knowledge first hand. Just plain fun as far as an adventure goes.

I'm still riding the TAT, on a little XT250. Feel like I'm the last one, only met one other rider.

I'm in Arkansas, which has been beautiful. But looking forward to the change of landscape in Oklahoma. Heard from multiple people the flatness of Oklahoma goes on forever.

I'm west of Enid Oklahoma an hour off the TAT. Let me know if you need anything. The weather is looking awesome this week.

    vt700guy,

I hope you got home safely before the weather turned.

Just about time to start next year's roll call page.
