Paolo Kapriony is so obsessed with weight reduction that he is personally taking all parts and weaving them on a precision scale

We had a quarrel on year ago on 240 grams of special filter hose rerouting, he had me make all again to go down to 175 grams...... I had to purchase a special ultra light press clamp to go below the 75......... but hey, 20 grams every half kilogram on a 175 kg Rally Bike is a great STEAK, and HE is right !!!!

with this attitude Elvira 950 LC8 was a hell of a machine to ride, sort of a beefed up motorcross bike, and this one cannot be less than that !!

I'm doing my best to keep down the quota myself, with Ergal and light alloy even in the fuel pump system, and it's not cheap !!!!

if you think that a fuel pump motor is alone more than 3/4 of the weight of a fuel pump assembly.... immagine what he said when I showed him the twin pump design.... he run after me with e 3'' pipe trying to club me to death !!!

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    it's a tough love hahahaah

    mate, REALLY????

    AHAHHAHHA

sure, second, nay, first jump and the wheelbarrow is broken in half

guys, this is a RALLY Bike, something that KTM will never do due to the displacement restrictions at Rallies, so private teams can play with real bikes, like they did with the 950, and create unique special bikes, be honest, all parts are amazing!!!

Yeah we know what it is, but thank you for explaining it...

Did you just say , " be honest all parts are amazing?"...

    What's amazing?

It's a very cool bike with some very interesting design choices...but amazing?

And the owner is not obsessed with weight savings based on these pictures...

Yeah maybe you should let the owner talk

Yes we have seen the bike many times before...yes it is an interesting bike

But since you keep pushing it the way you pushed your fuel filter solutions that were in fact not needed and a waste of money... I will stop trying to be subtle...

    The bike looks terrible.

It looks like a combination of old parts lying around someone's shop.

The rear tanks are poorly executed

The welds on the airbox look like an 8 year old did them

Money was thrown at this project yet it looks more like a high school shop project.

    Interesting

since I'm not pushing anything here at all and the owner speaks good English but is quite overwhelmed with the project and the Rally riding, not talking abuot the fact that he has to work to pay for his passion, I still don't see your point.
nobody will sell any parts from this bike, this is not a marketing project, I'm sharing the great efforts made by private people trying to make a 790 become a real Race bike and not some street derived off-one

poorly done, mate, JUMP IN, show us and help them producing better parts, here nobody is selling anything, we are creating froma stock NOT rally raid-ready street platform a Rally Bike.

are we entering a piss-furher competition?

I do believe that this is a sharing forum, where we can exchange info and details to make riding more interesting, less problematic, find solutions, and if possible have more fun the trouble.

school project, I belive NASA was involved in some of your bikes than ;)

    ohi, BTW,
all we are seing around here is farkles, more hp for no reasons and not much in terms of reliability improvements and hard use resistant parts, maybe I'm too old, but farkles are farkles and har wearing part are what will save your ass at the end of the day ;)

but again, I must be really getting old......

    cheers

    I am buffled

you are both confusing a farkle project made to sell than parts to std users instead of a Rally machine for racing a winning

where would you have the money for the carbon junk?

welding parts in Alu is 'almost' easy, need expertise but carbon parts have nothing to do in a rally bike

you fall down, you weld alu, and you scrap carbon

ARE YOU REALLY MISSING THE POINT?? I mean no disrespect !!

    :D:D:D:D:D

this is simply a race unique machine, not a maquette to start producing expensive farkle parts for the aftermarket rich people

I really must speak much worse than I believed

    :baldy:baldy:baldy:baldy:baldy:baldy:baldy

no, no carbon, no farkle, only HARD PARTS FOR HARD RACES

I have to see a Rally bike racing with carbon parts, must be nice to see how it crumbles apart at the second fall hitting the rocks

    cheers

I believe you hit the nail on the head here,
I for one would find this thread quite interesting if you could provide more facts and figures on the build and it's innovative parts in detail ,
that I could try to adapt to my a bit more mortal bike.
I would love a serious build thread on this interesting bike, without all the yelling and over excitement going on :jump more like :*sip* this is one of the few times we really don't need more cowbells ..

I, too would like to see more details on the Kapriony bike, @guglemonster. I wouldn't spend much time concerning yourself with the opinions of nowwhat. From what I've seen, he's just a rich kid who likes to collect cool bikes that others have built. His talent seems to be having buckets of cash sitting around his house that he gives to people that are actually talented bike builders, and then criticizing other's efforts.
Please post some more pictures and info on the parts you have fabricated for this bike.

The great thing about bluntness is it intimidates the weak, but motivates the strong. GargleMonster, I'm not sure what you're gargling, but you really ought to find a new spokesperson. And for the love of God:

    * STOP yelling
    * Stop being hugely passive aggressive
    * Stop with the holier than thou, superiority BS
    * And STOP talking to all of us like we're 8 yr olds. I find that offensive, and honestly it leaves me wishing I could punch you square in the face.

I used to rack it up to language barrier, or enthusiasm with an overload of salesmanship but not anymore. Now I simply find you most annoying, which is a bit of a shame because you may likely have something interesting to share, or at least your engineers do.

You should not be allowed to continue on as any sort of spokesperson. Find a tech savvy kid in your shop, and have him speak for you or have him work at disseminating what your shop has done on his choice of social media platform. But you need to step away from the keyboard. You're simply too...you.

It all boils down to the old adage - it's not what you say, but how you say it.

Insert a dozen passive aggressive emojis here --->

@kzeb @AdvRonski thank you guys, I shall try to collect as many info as possible without becoming Gargle....

@TrailTrauma funny that, I believed that being a inmate and simply reporting what I am part of in a private project was part of what this forum is all bout

what bluntness? punch in the face? spokesperson? kid in the shop?

    wtf?

step away from the keyboard? passive aggressive?

some people here are behaving like they're 5, wish they were eight, I don't even know how to do half of the things you're babbling about.

Are you referring to my bad attitude to tell people off when they put riders in danger with stupid suggestions?
and why is it getting personal here since I posted about a bike and technical solutions?

and how the frazuk am I supposed to answer without sounding passive aggressive??

who the heck is a passive aggressive?

somebody pretending to be a victim and shouting?

anyway, you win, no passive just tired, enthusiasm is energy consuming

and honestly, thanks for the words, the last sentence make sense

    cheers
