Since opening my shop to tent space last year, we’ve had six visitors from places like Morocco, Israel, and BC, Canada. Its been an absolute pleasure to meet each of them and share a little of ourselves. As evidenced by my comments, no (successful) axe murderers have visited and I’ll gladly continue to offer my space. I strongly encourage folks to get involved in whatever capacity they can provide.

I agree, have hosted before (not through tent space though) and it's very fulfilling.

Myself, I have been generously hosted three times on your last trip in the US and offered help by numerous others when I had some kind of trouble.
Some point I'd like to pay it forward, if I'll ever get a place that is

Between stop ins and the rallies I've hosted quite a few inmates, no duds yet. I keep a tally on my tent thread post #110.

When I click the post links on the map it redirects me to the ADV home page. Also, any updates planned soon?

We're aware of the issue. Currently, my belief is that Google changed something to break the links. They do that sometimes.

I've messaged the inmate who manages the maps to see if we can get this corrected.

FWIW, when I copy the URL listed on the Google Map into memory, paste it into a new tab of the browser and it enter, ADVRider itself then rewrites the URL to the main page.

What I noticed, as an example, here's a random link:

    http://advrider.com/posts/5129262 --> text

    Gets redirected to:

    http://advrider.com/f
    /

Now if I manually rewrite the link:

    http://advrider.com/f/posts/5129262

it takes me where I want to go.

My guess there's something not right on the ADVRider server farm.

The Tent Space map links have been fixed.

It seems that the ADV forum software was updated or changed recently, which slightly changed the URL for each post. Our team had to go in and change all the links on the map to point to the correct posts.

Interestingly, the tent space map has apparently attached itself parasitically to my mobile Google maps. Whenever I open maps now, I get the nearest tent space offerings.

If you click on the options menu on Google Maps--it's the three horizontal lines--you can uncheck the Tent Space layer.

That's on a desktop. On a mobile device, it should work the same way. You can choose to display the Tent Space layer or turn it off.

I've said it before, but this is one of the finest parts of ADVRider. Jamie, the hard work you and others put into making the Tent Space Map work is appreciated, even if we don't fully comprehend the volume of work involved.

If anyone has ideas for improving the Tent Space Map please let me know. I am a web application developer by trade so am always looking for small projects to expand my skillset plus it is more fun to work on this than actual work ;)

    well, now that you mention...
would it be possible to link the Advrider profile to a form that edits the personal location data on Google Maps? Will make it less maintenance for mods too...
